The Kids Thread

I have a thing about stickers.... but rather the reverse!
I ALWAYS take them off when I buy something.
Can't understand how people buy a book and leave all the promotional stickers and the price stickers and the 'Buy 2 get the second half price' stickers on it.
Same with CD's. The artwork just covered over with advertising or promotional shit all over them.
Saw a woman kneeling the other day with the sale price stickers still on the soles of her fashionable high heels..
Went to a friends house on Sunday and there were about 4 or 5 of those little glass candle holders all over the place, each one had a nice scented candle burning and every one had a '€2' sticker on the outside.

Yeah that annoys me on books and on DVD covers, when you pick them off but they don't come off cleanly and leave a stickly blob.

My three year old is having a crisis of confidence already.

Fabulous parenting Jolemai

Wait until they become teenagers. Mini-Squeeze had her first date yesterday, off to the cinema. She and the boyfriend had bought each other gifts on holiday. All very sweet.

Not at all awkward when she comes bounding across Bentley Bridge car park shouting "Mommy, Mommy, Tom just gave me a pearl necklace"

My wife has just dropped off a load of clothes, toiletries & other supplies to be shipped off to the refugee camp in Calais. The kids were with her, which led to the following conversation:

Belle: 'Mummy, why are we giving the boxes to the ladies?'
Wife: 'Because the ladies are taking them to some people who don't have coats or beds or food. We are lucky to have those things so we should share shouldn't we?'
Belle 'Oh. Yes.'
<Five minutes later>
Belle: 'Mummy, can I share the pennies out of my penny box with the people who haven't got a bed?'.

I'm so proud! :)

Good work T-Dog!

The ex-in-laws bought my daughter a CD filled with bloody Disney music on it. With a book with lyrics to accompany it. Primarily to annoy me, but my daughter loves the book.

She asked to put the CD on this weekend - and as it was a birthday present, I agreed and prepared to shut myself away somewhere in the house safe from the polluted soundwaves. Two minutes later, she found me and said 'Dad - this music isn't very good. It's a bit warbly. Can you put the Beatles on instead please?'

So so proud. Fuck you, Frozen.

Nowt wrong with the songs in Frozen.

"Love is an Open Door" is a great tune :D

I like musicals. If the songs are good then they're good. Frozen isn't even the best song in it, Love Is An Open Door is.

I fucking loathe musicals. And I fucking loathe Frozen - as would anyone after seeing it x hundred times.

It's MASSIVELY overrated as well as being pretty bloody dreadful. Though I'm a 35 year old male - I don't think I'm the target audience.

Tough paper round?

I'm not a Frozen hater as my little girl loves it. As a rule I despise Disney films though, just on point of Walt Disney being an outright weirdo.

Fuck you funny man :icon_lol:

Frozen is shit though. Unoriginal, hammy bullshit. Which weirdly enough has become a phenomenon - I can't grasp why as it's so dull. My daughter has loads of Disney films and I'd rate Frozen as amongst the worst.

I like Pixar though - always a good compromise. Toy Story, Up, Bugs Life, Monsters Inc, they're all great.

I love most things Disney and I don't mind admitting it. I have to hear the songs from Frozen several times a week as my daughter is obsessedI so I've grown to like them. The songs in it are part of the reason it's been so successful.

:tiphat:

I agree with you about Pixar, even though they were bought by the evil empire they still produce great films, but then they started great. My particular ire is for films like Aladdin, Mulan and The Lion King which are all utter rubbish.
