The January 2025 Transfer Thread

Would you prefer Miggens? Or we could do the full Lemons and go with Mittens.

Actually, Mittens is quite good. Cheers Tony.

The what now?
Lemina == Lemons

@The Bear secretly considers banning me every time I use it.

If because you could be Lemons, nah, too close to your actual. If “curd” didn’t have such bad mouthfeel I’d go in that direction for you. 😇

Text from my nephew - we've asked Forest about David Carmo.

Thiago Almada (Pereira keen) and Dan Ballard are possibilities too.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Think Alan will be best placed to comment on Almada!

Ballard and Carmo would be a bit meh. But probably better than Toti and Bueno I guess ?

We shouldn't be asking about anyone a week before the window when we've seen this weakness for how many months. Someone should literally already be joining on 1 January.
New manager has seen the list. No need to check it twice...its shit.

Our way of working will be flipped again as we had to go cap in hand to Jorge.

Ballad sounds very much like another Nathan Collins. Good Champ defender and supposed leader.

Why did Forest sign Carmo and then punt him straight out on loan?

Not going to kick off the 3 atb debate again, but if that's the future then we need 2 starting centre halves as a minimum and you could argue 3. Now they are prepared for it teams will target Doherty and Buenos lack of pace and Toti is a liability.

Fucking lovely player, exceptionally smart and pure football talent coming out of his ears. His range of passing is world class.

Up to the Prem, though? Really hard to say. I think he probably fits the league better than, say, Mittens Almirón, but he’s been the Golden Boy at every club he’s played for, and he certainly would not be that in the PL. He’s not a stunning athlete, relatively speaking, and even in MLS has given me big “Heart of a Pea” vibes from time to time.

Not unique to him, but he’d probably look fantastic for a top club and middling for a club in our position. That would be my bet, anyway, were I a gambler.

Pretty sure Almada is signing for Lyon as part of a deal with the eagle group after 6 months with Botafogo.
