The January 2025 Transfer Thread

Brazhko seems decent. Watched a quick vid and he's pretty mobile for someone who's 6ft. Good long shot on him.

He's definitely Lemina's replacement, who is off to Saudi in the next couple of days from what I've heard.

Brazhko - from a scouting report.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Versatile 50/50: Brazhko excels in balancing offensive creativity with defensive stability, making him a complete player in both attacking and defensive phases. Brazhko’s best raw attributes are his shooting and tackling.

Recent Stats (2023/24 Season): 6 goals, 5 assists in 30 appearances

Playing Style and Role:
Volodymyr Brazhko epitomizes the modern defensive midfielder, contributing effectively on both ends of the field. His ability to dictate the tempo from deep, combined with his instinct to push forward and join the attack with his fantastic ball striking skills, makes him a crucial figure in Dynamo Kyiv’s pursuit of league success. Brazhko excels at breaking up opposition play while also possessing a keen eye for delivering key passes and scoring from midfield—traits that have made him indispensable to the team.

Why He’s Special:
What truly sets Volodymyr Brazhko apart is his versatility. He seamlessly fits into various midfield roles, whether as a deep-lying playmaker, an advanced creative outlet, or even in a more defensive capacity. This flexibility, coupled with his technical proficiency, allows him to thrive in different tactical systems. His standout performances this season have captured the attention not only of Ukrainian football fans but also European scouts, who see his potential for success at a higher level. Standing at 1.84 meters, Brazhko combines physicality with excellent decision-making and a good range of passing.

So there are the details of what we are pissing about over. €3m plus an extra €5m in bonuses. Which seems pretty fair enough given that they accepted a €25m bid from Roma last summer for him.

If we end up standing our ground for a few million in what is an extremely key position for us and our chances of survival then the fans are gonna be extremely pissed off. Especially when they get fleeced for exactly this sort of money in ticket prices.
It's one thing playing hardball and taking the moral highground/walking away from deals in the summer, but when you're in the relegation zone, in the last three days of a transfer window in January you're not afforded that luxury. And that's all on Shi/Fosun for putting us in this position in the first place.

Absolutely zero sympathy from me & fair play to Lens for playing the game and clocking Shi & Hobbs for the mugs they are.

What annoys me is that I genuinely have no idea if Kevin Danso is any good.
Me neither but he has statistically beat the vast majority of CBs in France in all defensive stats this season so he must be fairly decent.

I remember him from his very brief time at Southampton and he was shite then. Hoping he's improved.

He does tick the homegrown box which I'm sure is a contributing factor in why we want to sign him.

Can’t wait for Doyle Andre Bellegarde
Any combination will be rubbish, but not as bad as Andre +1. I'd play Andre, Doyle with Traore just in front if you can get an hour out of him. Cunha and Hwang as a 2. Appreciate that's 2 players out of that 5 I'd be happy to never see play for us again in the PL if the options were where they should be.
