The January 2025 Transfer Thread

I never said I was happy with the present situation , so I don't know where that notion came from .

I am simply suggesting that giving up isn't something I'm interested in doing .

Owners come and owners go , players come and players go . The worm never stops turning .

It's a mess right now , I am not denying that .

We're a stable club in some ways - Santi Bueno really does remind me of a carthorse and the stink of horse shit emanates at the end of every transfer window.

The bottom line is that it is very difficult to compete in a rigged league where the top clubs cream off the mountain of money and then create rules to prevent other clubs competing with them.
Yep. I mean Forest, Villa, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham and Brighton are all really struggling to stay in the top half. Must be bloody difficult!

C'mon man.... someone has to prop up the league... you just don't like it being us. Tis sport.

No I don't like it being us. Not one bit.

Our owners have the money to be one of those in the top half. Unfortunately they don't have the necessary leadership or knowledge to actually do it and instead have a CEO who wants to survive on the cheap to win brownie points with his bosses.

It was a long time ago, but back in my day I remember when the same ownership did manage to to hire a proper head coach and give him a team to finish 7th (twice) and not just prop up the league.

I mean I just dread to think about Guo's processing power when he's thinking about football. Shi's been living and breathing it for eight years, but his knowledge is only marginally better your average fan from the MLS
Absolutely agree.

And we were temporarily duped into thinking Shi knew what he was doing for a little while too, but that was before he got rid of all the people who did have a clue were got rid of. Obviously Nuno, but also Dalrymple and Thelwell (to an extent) too.

I don't think we can even comprehend the bullshit Shi must feed Guo about Wolves, the Premier League and the culture here, it'll be light years from the reality.

A football club that fails to justify its status and gets relegated isn’t a stable club. Relegation from the PL is probably the most destabilising things that can happen to a club. We’re especially unstable due to the fact we’ve been in the PL 7 seasons and allowed countless clubs to drift past us.
