Some report floating around said Lascelles would be for sale but only at "the right price for Newcastle" or whatever.

Maybe that number is prohibitively high?

Hasn't Dawson been starting for WHU recently? Maybe they need the money.
Started the last three league games.

I get the idea of just get someone in who knows the league and can slot right in but he has genuinely looked absolutely shit whenever he's played this season.

Helped them keep a clean sheet when our mega scorers rolled into town though (from right back as well)

Surprised we aren’t now getting moans about panic buying…..

Listening to what Moyes actually said, I wouldn't be shocked if a second improved bid gets Dawson. Not that I am overly keen on that!

I think the Dawson deal will probably happen, Moyes left the door open and the reports are that Dawson wants to move back to the midlands anyway.

what's rankling is that we might have always had these kinds of funds available, prior to lage, but decided not to spend them when we could have really pushed on
It's complacency, isn't it.

We finished 7th twice, we were 6th when Raul got injured at Arsenal, we're fine, we've got good players, everything else looks after itself. No need to appoint a proper manager, get someone in who's cheap and won't rock the boat. Signings, well they pretty much all hit the mark between 2017 and 2019, just carry on doing what we're doing, they're bound to be ok.

Except football doesn't work like that.

*If* we get away unscathed from the disastrous Lage era then we've got very lucky indeed. Not the first or the last club who that could be said of, of course. Albion once avoided relegation despite appointing Pepe Mel AND Alan Irvine in the same calendar year. But very lucky all the same.

This was from the summer. Wonder where we'll be with summer/winter combined

Once we sort out the CB and possibly RB, if that's what The Loppressive Regime wants, then I'll assume that'll be it for a window or two. Even if Neves goes. They'll want to make sure we can spend in future windows because of FFP.

If Dawson is still being spoken of - does that mean that Felipe is not happening I wonder , or maybe it's just having another option if Felipe does not happen .

We should have loads of headroom on that. Our net spend from 2019 to 2021 was roughly £0. We're one of only three PL clubs (think City and Leeds were the other two) that made a profit in the last set of accounts.

I'm still convincing myself that Neves won't leave . With a proper Professional regime in place that hopefully keeps us up - why leave and be a small fish in a big pond , rather than the opposite here , with European possibilities down the line if all goes well .

Lamina at Molineux, apparently, just after been shown round asda maybe?
Not my photo, it’s doing the rounds on social media
