The Incoming Transfers Everywhere Thread: Summer 2023

I don’t know much about Sarabia apart from him nearly scoring in the last minute and then missing a penalty vs Morocco but 5m Euros seems a bit of a bargain!

West Ham boss David Moyes has admitted he doesn't expect much transfer activity, ahead of facing Wolves on Saturday: “Nothing at the moment. We said in the summer we said we’d do most of our business then. We might do something in January if the right player is there but at the moment we’re going with what we’ve got.”

On Craig Dawson: “We’ve had an offer from Wolves, we’ve not accepted it and that’s as much as I can tell you.”

Well, we're certainly not hanging around! Just need that experienced CB now and I'll be very happy.

Sarabia plays anywhere across the front three and also No. 10 position. Very versatile.

Sarabia is best known for his versatility and efficiency.

It describes him as a Swiss Army knife, and Sarabia is quoted as saying: “I’ve played in a lot of different positions. The coach thought it was the right thing to do. And that went well. I played forward, right winger, left winger…”

Sarabia worked with Thomas Tuchel at the Parc des Princes, and the German was said to be quite the fan of the player’s ability to finish.

He also appreciates that he does the dirty work, saying: “He’s really impressive. He runs well, with and without a ball. His game without the ball is a great example. He plays with a lot of intensity and does not stop [working] defensively.”

We can do better than Craig Dawson, surely. I'm not even sure it's that good a short term sticking plaster, we'd definitely need to sign someone else in the summer regardless.

Also look at his appalling hair.

It's nice to have genuine options in those areas. Earlier in the season it felt like if the first eleven weren't performing we didn't really have anyone to come off the bench and change the games.

More that Lage was completely incapable of managing a game.

Lopetegui has had broadly speaking the same players and we keep getting an impact from subs.

Pop us a list of PL experience centre backs that will be a cheapish transfer fee please. I want to see the options and I am way too lazy to do it myself (just presuming you have a spreadsheet or something)

I know why we are targeting Dawson but if there is another player bandwagon to jump on I need early notice...

Well he does crazy things things like asking players to play in their best position and asking forwards to attack the 6 yard box.

(watch him play Neves as a CB tomorrow...)

I'd take Lascelles over Dawson a hundred times out of a hundred, not getting a kick at Newcastle.

I really, really don't want Dawson polluting the club.

Hopefully it'll be a case of "he's a dick but he's our dick".

Daley Blind was my last one of those and Bayern signed him. So I don't want to alert elite European clubs to my amazing scouting.
The influence is strong from OW's account then.

Put them off by over selling Craig Dawson at the same time.

Hasn't Dawson been starting for WHU recently? Maybe they need the money.
