If there are no more signings we will be in big trouble, I think. Lop would be gone by Xmas for a start. Injuries need to be factored in with such poor strength in depth. Oh, and global warming to boot.

Surely we’re going to see that they were lying once the accounts can be seen if we haven’t lost between £60-80 million in the last year.
only just getting up to speed with reading about this financial shit show.

is the general view this level of loss can’t be right? would seem a bit mad to make it up.

in 20/21 we made £16m profit (pre group debt write off). So if we do have £80m losses on top of last years £46m won’t we already breach the £105m in the 3 years to May 23? Wasn’t there some allowance for Covid?

£60m-£80m is also quite a range esp if the top end means a breach. Maybe they found an error.

Iheanacho passed 5 league goals once for Leicester (generally a far more attacking team than Wolves) in six seasons, he's not got a good record at all.

Goal or assist every 200 or so mins last season is miles better than anything we've had since Raul got injured.

He barely played tbf, returns per minute are decent as has been said.

Surprised he's been there so long.

Scoring record (all comps, I know you hate that :) )

8, 2, 10, 19, 8, 8

it's not great is it.

However, I think he'd score more than anyone we already have.

Pie in the sky though.

It's no good looking at just "better than we have" because the bar is so low.

If I have a pack of mince in the fridge that's gone rotten then a fresh pack of value mince with 40% fat is going to be better. Will still taste like absolute shite though and I won't enjoy my tea tonight.

Is Ihenacho on a free? Won’t be coming here otherwise. And even then…

There's a reason he's barely played and hardly ever as a 9.

That would be an appalling waste of £10m as he's probably no better than the Golden Child.

Well that’s my point really, I don’t see them making this up when in a few months we’re going to see the accounts.

If it is true which i suspect it is what it does show is the mismanagement over the last few years is off the scale.

I'll be glad when he's sold to a Saudi club next season and off our books.
Second division club? Not sure he's good enough for their top flight teams.

No exaggeration at all, our worst signing of the last 20 years when you put all the factors together (didn't want to be here, mega expensive, looked dreadful for years for multiple other teams, zero output, terrible attitude, can't get rid of him).

It boils my piss that the club communication is they are broke when they did this Mendes favour nobody wanted.

Jeff Shi is a fucking prick for this and the Silva deal, just not fit for purpose.
Lage has his part to play in it as well.

Jorge tried a few times to get Guedes here and Lage was the man who waved him through. Clearly dodging the question "do you really want to be here?"

You won't see this in the accounts until as late as March 2025. Transactions this summer will feature in the May 2024 accounts that get filed on or before March the following year.

Still the Egg for me. Mairhofer a close second and we shall not discuss Helan again.

Egg was like £1m or something. A weird pointless signing but impacted on nowt.

Maierhofer was rubbish but we got quite a bit of our money back in the end.

Hélan cost nothing basically and was here for a few weeks to hold Doherty's hand.

All crap players on pure ability terms but they're nothing like the kind of bad deal that Guedes was. Imagine if we had an extra £30m+ (fee plus wages for the time he's been here, easily) in the coffers now. And it was all so grimly predictable to anyone who'd ever watched him play.

I'd say Nouble is the worst player I've seen for us in the last 20 years but he wasn't a worse signing than Guedes.

More often than not he had to play second fiddle to Vardy and was pushed out wide if played at the same time. His stats are still very good compared to other strikers for the last year.

He'd be a decent option for either role up front, and an upgrade on a similar player like Hwang.

Guedes isn't that bad a player, it was just such an appalling signing in that he really didn't want to be here and it was obvious as soon as he could he was off

All we did was obviously line Mendes pockets.

And the club are now putting out and doubling down on the communications line that they're broke.
