The Incoming Transfers Everywhere Thread: Summer 2023

I’d have him but we’re decently stocked in CM now that Westwood has arrived.

Be interesting to see if he (Ronan) hits the ground running or needs a year to settle like Price did in Colorado.
What sort of squad size do they have in the MLS Al? Do they rotate like we do or are there less games?

I just wished they would have signed him this summer. Save all the fucking heartache next summer. Liverpool very clever, let him bed into the Prem and then go fuck you Wolves without even a thank you note.
Maybe not. I would be looking for a big profit. Let the Scousers pay top dollar.

Any update on Dawson? Would have thought that would be relatively easier to get over the line?

West Ham won't sell until they have a replacement.

They seem to want Maguire.

Not sure at what point we move on to other targets though rather than risk the same outcome as August.

Squad size ay all that dissimilar, maybe a bit larger on average (not counting youth players).

Rotation happens more often here than there, IMO, but MLS scheduling is weird so you end up with a number of weeks where everyone is playing Sunday-Wednesday-Saturday (or very similar to that).

The biggest thing here is how often rotation is enforced, IE, MLS isn’t off during every international break. So there will be matches this year for Charlotte in which Karol Swiderski won’t be available because he’s on duty with Poland. It means that our DPs (max 3 for each club; players who essentially are excluded from salary cap rules) are often international players and therefore you need their backup(s) to be good players, too, because at some point you’re going to be FORCED to play them. Kind of like AFCON players going away, just every season, multiple times.

It’s all a but hard to keep track of tbqh.

They want Maguire the same way I want Mo Salah.

Not happening in a million years.

Even if he was open to leaving Utd, he’s not going to fancy a relegation battle.

I can’t believe we can’t find a better centre half than shitty Dawson.

Hence my comment at what point we walk away.

There is better out there but he is the number 1 target for the ones in charge so for me, at some point in the coming days we have to move on or we are left risking having 18 league games (not counting this weekend) with 3 CB's and 1 we don't think is good enough yet and really needs to go out on loan,

Oops, sorry Alan

Leicester close to signing Victor Kristiansen
Which means Atletico can sign Soyuncu now, rather than in the summer
Which means Felipe will be allowed to leave this window

From r/atletico when Felipe got injured early this season:

I know everyone shits on Felipe, but I prefer him over Hermoso and there is a reason why Simeone trusts him.

He is a good defender the problem is that he has to play more minutes than a 3rd/4th choice defender is supposed to. I bet that if Savic and Gimenez could stay fit for once then Felipe's role would be more appreciated.

Seems a reasonably balanced take but doesn't exactly scream "definite success".

Kristiansen is a LB though...

Not paid to know about foreign football.

Whoever we get at CH, kind of immaterial if they play at City or not because we'll probably lose anyway, and then we have a rare gap until 4th Feb, so it's not one of these "must get it done ASAP" things for once. Obviously we'd like them ready to play Liverpool in the league.

Liam saying Flamengo are ignoring our comms (emails set as spam, calls sent to voicemail etc).

Get Hobbs back to South America...

Looking like this one will be down to player power if we get it over the line.
