The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

I tend to go with gravy with chips.

For chip butties, some cheese & mayo on crusty bread make a stellar sarnie.

Thats good enough for me though, sounds delicious :)

Butt Rub covered chicken wings, corn on the cob, green salad, pasta salad, devilled eggs.

This week I have discovered a love for Thai food. I'd never really eaten much before but my wife made cod, rice & asparagus in a thai green sauce earlier in the week and last night we had a beef massaman curry. Both were stupidly tasty.

Doing my first ever proper home made chicken korma tonight. Cooking for the kids too, hence the Paddy-esque strength sauce. It's Mini Langers' favourite - but that's acceptable as he's only 6.

Fried the korma mixture, stock, onion, garlic and ginger in butter this morning before adding it to the slow cooker - the kitchen smelt amazing!

Glad to hear you are using it Langers, many people buy a slow cooker, use it once and it never sees the light of day again.

In mine today i'll be popping in some chicken, spring onions, diced water chestnuts, carrots in a black bean sauce. Served on a bed of rice ( which is in a pouch, snip off the corner, microwave for 90 seconds, serve) ..A no faff dinner, with no effort but which I know is going to smell and taste delicious :)

See that's the other thing with Slow Cookers - having to start cutting and frying before going to work?? Fuck dat.

Oh yes! One of my favourites too and really, really easy to do.

Has Mark stolen your login details?

I do the cutting the night before - it takes about a minute to fry them - and in mine, you fry them in the pot that then goes in the slow cooker so it's hardly a massive issue. This morning's took slightly longer but normally it's pretty much all ready.

But then when you get in from a hard days work, dinner is cooked and ready to serve, which gives extra time to spend in the garden having a beer or two :)

I barely have the wherewithall to shovel Bran Flakes in my mouth at that time, no way do I want to be making extra time to start sauteing :D
