The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

I've not done the dhansak yet - was it any good?

The ones I've done - in order of best to worst are:

Garlic Chilli chicken (this was immense)
Jalfrezi
Bhuna
Pathia
Rogan Josh
Chasni
Masala
Karahi

Very tempted to make a batch of base gravy and do a proper BIR curry at some point - I like the look of Al's chicken madras BIR style

Were all of those without having to make the base gravy first?

Enjoyed the Dhansak but I agree that the Garlic Chilli Chicken is immense.
I really liked the Madras. Hoping to do a Vindaloo soon!

There's a woman sat next to me on the train eating a sandwich with a knife and fork. Fucked up.

I don’t like to get my hands dirty!

If you grew up with Sloppy Joes you understand. 🙂

I got that beat. Back when Squeeze and I were first dating she came to stay with me at my parents house. Crikey it’s fifteen years ago.

Anyway I took her out for a curry in Tring at a quite average place called the Jubraj. Second best in Tring - the Khanakh Bahar was a billion times better but hey ho.

Point is we were sat in a booth, and next booth this woman was appalling to the staff. Truly awful behaviour. She ordered a Korma and rice and naan, and ate the naan with a knife and fork.

My girlfriend is Punjabi, she goes absolutely apoplectic at stuff like that. She saw a guy eat a plain gol gappe without any filling once and I thought she was going to deck him.

Tbf if someone from NYC clocked me for eating pizza with a fork and knife, I’d understand.

Still utensils all the way tho.

Gravy is for a roast not a steak. Red wine jus I could accept but gravy belongs nowhere near a steak.
I had a steak when living in Lyon, served with an astonishing onion gravy that was to die for.
Suffice it to say, it wasn't the only one i had that year.
