I actually think Lidl's brown sauce is good. It's the only own brand that gets anywhere near to Daddies for me.

Their salad cream is good too.

To be fair I had Aldi's once (it looks like HP so picked it up by mistake) and it wasn't bad at all.

No, but I have brown sauce with them.

for me brown is out of bounds when you bring egg or mushrooms into the equation.

You've reminded me. Sausage, egg and mushroom sandwich/cob. Deffo brown sauce on that. Well HP Fruity.

Brown sauce on pastry is good. Cornish paste, sausage roll, steak bake. Yep yep yep.

Yep. Brown sauce on Fray Bentos steak and kidney pies as well, not that I ever really eat them.

Brown sauce on any sausage/bacon sandwich with anything else on as well. HP brown (not that fruity shit).

Prefer red sauce on a warm sausage roll though, no idea why.

Ummm

I like a good cheese sauce but I am SHIT at making it. Never ever get it right. Easy enough to buy one I suppose but I'd prefer to be able to do it myself.

Shop bought one this time (and a very chedder-y one although I do love blue cheese) Its easy enough to make your own sauce, I used to struggle with them until I saw the tip that you need to cook the flour out for a bit after you mix the flour and butter together to stop the floury taste that you can sometimes get - made a noticeable difference

My word-beating chilli con carne for the family today. Lucky them.

M&S pizzas last night. Not bad.

Fish can be hit or miss, If the pie is Pukka then go for it :)
