The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

The snapper wasn't available. It was tandoori mackerel again as the steak night fish special. I could have had lobtster salad, but fancied something different.

Just had a chicken and bacon salad at the pub. Very nice as well.

Oh, maybe tomorrow.

Fresh crab meat on a bit of crusty bread and a prawn cocktail.

Thanks leeds!

prawn cocktail.
Thinking it was a drink I had to look it up, and this is what Felicity Cloake had to say:

"The prawn cocktail has become such a figure of culinary fun in recent years that it is hard to take it seriously as a dish."

There were pictures. I can never get straight if it's the British saying prawn and the US saying shrimp. :)

Its a lovely dish, seved with brown bread.Bit 70's but still tasty. In some pubs they used to serve them in wine glasses back then, which I never understood. Think a shrimp is a bit smaller than a prawn.

The 70s, that brings me back. Not to prawn cocktails but still, good times! Shrimp and prawn are different species? I knew I'd learn alot from you.

My mum used to make some stuff (veggies and some protein) inside a clear jelly like substance (but trust me didn't taste like jelly) back in the 70s. That's NOT what I wanted to remember. :icon_surprised:

Ah yes, the 70's. Still at school then so not much fun. Now the 80's..

They both have 10 legs you know. But prawns have more claws on their feet. I think this is right, either that or I had some weird dream about them one night. That clear jelly, aspic. Awful stuff.

Yes, aspic. I didn't know they have 10 legs. Told you I'm no good with that food malarky. :) Less said about the 80s the better probably, did you have fluffy hair? :icon_biggrin:

I did have fluffy hair, but unfortunately no boobs back then. Did you? Have fluffy hair? You can pass the question about boobs if you wish :)

Cool. :) I did not have fluffy hair, I went to see the hair lady and she said: I can cut it, I can colour it but there's no way you'll ever have fluffy hair.

I've always had boobs. :) Not very big mind.
