The Hand of Willy verdict thread

Anyone who didn't take heart from seeing a Wolves team play like that against that sort of quality needs their lumps felt.

Exactly. What a superb result from a terrific performance by Wolves.

If we can play to this level regularly then we have nothing to fear from anyone.

I am a qualified, certified and sworn-in Supafan, and I approve of today's performance.

Doherty will be playing from a wheelchair by Christmas, though. Poor lad got lumps kicked out of him today.

We were brilliant. Play like that and we beat most teams in this league. That probably says a lot about how unbelievably good Manchester City are.

Chatted with a couple of their fans in the Boho. They thought we were really good and a point each was totally the right result. They thought their team were a little off their best, but we were excellent. That'll do me.

We were really fucking good, really difficult to single any one out for less than 7/10.

We played probably the best prem team ever and not oncs did we look over-awed or out of place. Really proud of our team today.

Trying to think after going to games for the last 31 years at Molineux of game that had better quality on show from both sides.

The home game against Blackburn under Kenny Jackett springs to mind, or the one the following season under Lambert. Been blessed to see some real high-quality matches against those opponents in fact.

Thought we dug in, more spirited and functional than expressive and thanks to the woodwork and a magnificent display from Patricio got us a merited point. While I cant say we 'matched them' I thought we were a bit panicky and sloppy when we did get at them else we could have snatched all three points. Costa and Jota much better, but the whole team very disciplined and organised. Traore again effective and looks a bargain. Vinagre surely cant be far away from a start. Hard to pick an outfield player but Neves/Moutinho easily the best central midfield partnership I can remember and Ryan Bennett looks far from over-awed, his tackling second to none. Their goal - poor defending irrespective of opposition.

Not quite sure what was going on the foul throws either ...

2nd game on MOTD tonight

And deservedly so.

Really enjoyed today, magnificent performance against arguably the best team on the planet right now. That's some going and to think we could have even have won that game.

Exactly this.

Missed it today sadly but am very excited for motd. Sounds like we were excellent all round.

Set pieces becoming a weakness again? Got to wonder if the way Nuno likes to set up for them is a bit suspect as we should be well drilled in them by now. Haven't seen it so no idea what it was like.

Either way, bloody hell what a result that is.

We conceded from a set piece, but you also have to bear in mind, we defended a LOT of set pieces really well.

What a game that was. Don’t any moron try and tell me ”it’s better in the championship because you win more games”.

Proper well fought game between two wel organised and coached teams

And coady was brilliant today. Top; top, playe.

Just compare that game with Albion v Boro last night. It's a different bloody planet.

We were superb. City just a touch off their best. But we went at them. Us. Wolves.

Holy shit, we are back.

Holy $#@!, we are back.

Or Huddersfield v Cardiff today, even when it went 1-1 loved the way we kept our shape and still created chances. I’d say about 12/20 PL sides would have shut up shop completely then.

Moutinho is brilliant. And I love Traore, bollocks to anyone who says otherwise ;)

Yep. Traore buy of the season.
Whole team were brilliant today.
We are up and running.
Others will look at that and be thinking how to stop some of our players. The formation and way of managing the game was great and effective today and will surely give tge management and the players a lot of confidence going forwards. As long as we keep playing the same way and hit teams on the break we will go far.

Not long back in. That was a superb game of football.

$#@!. We just went toe to toe with the best team in the country, and probably the continent. And we didn't park the bus, we went for it and played our way. And we thoroughly deserved a point. Both sides did. It was excellent entertainment.

And boy it was loud in there as well.

So much positivity to take from that today. We look the real deal in this division.

Top stuff. To me (watching on Sky) this was a watershed, it's the start of something big, in 3 or 4 years time, 31,000 will be able to look back and say I was there. I'm jealous.

Remember the thread
Cyber, Tredman, Paddington , Arklo and Johnny 75 all in complete agreement

Thank you Wolves.

Hold on a minute!! Haven't you read what Alan has to say about MLS?
