The bloke from Warwick’s pretty special with his right-angled elbow poised to deliver a hyper-rapid press of the buzzer but, yes, Warner is going to struggle getting laid too.

Loved this weeks Overlap with Duncan Ferguson.

Love Big Dunc

My two favourite stories of him (that aren't battering thieving bastards)

1) When he finished playing he kept turning up to the Everton training ground to coach the youth teams. Without an invite. In the end they said 'we're going to have to give him a job, he won't go away'

2) He hated the SFA as they didn't back him when he was up in court. Nevertheless Craig Brown asked him if he'd come back and play in Euro 96. 'Nae thanks, ah've already booked ma holidays'

From the comments- rings true with his words about how fans of both sides were good to him and he never had any problems (apart from the dd charge) in the City. Considering his past you wouldn’t have thought that possible.

Anyone not from Liverpool needs to understand how much is loved by local people, both red and blue. He’d do anything for anyone and widely respected for being an underrated great player. We love good people that wear their heart on their sleeves. Great fella.

He was a seriously good player too. A hard man yes, but tons of ability too.

Couldn't stay fit at Newcastle but I seem to remember him and Shearer being dynamite when they actually did get to play together.

Despite his reputation as a player he always comes across as a thoroughly lovely guy, so unassuming

Favourites are when he was FGR manager and he played along with Dale Vince and his vegan sausage rolls and pretending to like them and Jimmy Bullard's story about squaring up to him on the pitch, acting tough then realising Big Dunc was waiting for him in the tunnel after the game so Bullard was out on the pitch ages after the game scared to go in!

This City is Ours is the programme Kin would like to be. 7 episodes in and in Michael you have a character you are rooting for even though he's a terrible person whereas in Kin you don't care for any of them
I did like Kin a lot but this is definitely better.

2 left for us, finishing tonight I think.

The only bugbear is when I saw Davy Crawford's wife in the first episode, I thought "her nose is ludicrously small, like even smaller than Dwight Schrute's" and now I can't unsee it in every scene she turns up in.

Didn't watch Derry Girls I take it?

James Nelson-Joyce played the role of Michael very well and seems to be making a career of playing bad lads though he insists in every interview that he is the complete opposite in real life and a real softy. He played the nasty inmate Johnno in Time where he bullied Sean Bean's character until the latter finally stood up to him. Like a few in TCIO, he is one of the Stephen Graham stable

I know I'm old and therefore haven't played the game but Last of Us this week was jaw droppingly shocking. Great TV.
I haven't started season 2 yet, but the first season was bloody brilliant. Pedro Pascal is not just a great actor but an all around top bloke. Bella Ramsey is also terrific, the Last of Us fanboys trolling of her because she doesn't look like the character in the game is pathetic. (Really they don't like her because she's non-binary).

The last 2 nights have been really excellent episodes of Michael Portillo's train programme. From Ironbridge to the Black Country, covering lots of local history, nothing I didn't know but interesting all the same.
Also managed to cover the Black Country accent without being too patronising.
Talks about a darker bit of our history, racism and the rise of the anti racist lobby.

Is that the one where he visits Bridgnorth? Think I've seen it. Recently watched his series in Portugal on Channel 5, really enjoyed it but it's a country I love anyway.

I like Portillo's programmes, he is very personable and it's never all about him, see plenty of wherever he is visiting and the people who live there

Don't think he has been to Bridgenorth in this one, maybe he'll do a loop and end up there during the week.
