For sure; it's definitely not without some weight.

I think we're down to ~65% of the public identifying as Christian, which I would guess is lower than most would think.

I don't know for certain that that's a good or bad thing (whatever my own beliefs, I don't particularly find the idea that atheism is intellectually superior to, uh, non-atheism, to really hold that much water), but them's the numbers.

Religion plays a big part over here but you've missed the biggest American value of all: money. The election of Trump also shows the power religion actually has here: not much. People will toss aside their faith quite readily when push comes to shove.

At least we beat Ireland to the punch on divorce.

It's not religion in itself though, it's a few peoples vision of what religion should be, based on their own views of what is acceptable using religion as a stick to beat people with opposing views.

Daisy Jones and The Six is every bit as good as I hoped it would be.

If you haven’t read it then I’m not sure if you’ll be as into it as me but I really loved the book. I also listened to the soundtrack album before watching so I was totally invested in it before I’d even seen the first episode.

I think they’ve done a really good job of making the band and the songs come to life.

A bit of a sideways step, but when I was 11 I found a big thick book and started reading until it was done. Took fucking months but it was gripping, best story I'd ever read, but then again I was only 11.

Just watched the final episode of Endeavour. Been putting it off for the exact same reason I’ve never read the final Morse book.

It was possibly the best episode of the lot and one of the finest TV programmes I’ve ever seen.
