The Goggle Box Thread

I don’t mind them tbh, just turn my brain off and instantly forget most of what happened when it’s over

Mmm, maybe this is the best way to watch Wolves? Wouldn't hurt as much!
Then we pop on here and its impossible

I wonder if there is a Harlan Coben forum where fans are furious with plot lines, characters etc.
Threads around people trying to work out how a teacher can live in a £3m house in Cheshire.
Watch along threads where people get more and more angry as the episodes roll on.

"Yeah you sit in your upper west side Manhattan Apartment Harlan and we are forced to watch this shit"
"FFS Harlan, Richard Armitage and James Nesbitt must have dodgy photos of you or something...PICK DIFFERENT ACTORS YOU BASTARD"

Currently watching the first episode of Brian and Maggie, channel 4 are brilliant at this sort of thing.
For those of us who can remember Brian Walden, Steve Coogan has got his voice perfect, Harriet Walter’s version of the witch ain’t bad either.

Looking forward to watching that, used love Brian Waldens interviews.

Fawlty Towers, Only Fools and Horses, Dad's Army, Blackadder, Yes Minister, Porridge, Open all Hours and The Good Life. 8/10 of the sitcoms voted as Britian's greatest were all from the 70s and 80s
Ha, very true, none of them on ITV though.

Blackadder has just aged me, i can't believe it was 1983 it first aired and it would still work if it had first aired in 2025. Yes Minister has somewhat been overtaken by real life and the Good Life was shit then and would still be shit.

Never took to Open All Hours but Porridge was and is an exceptional situational comedy.

Fools and horses is way overrated, couple of half decent episodes, good few funny scenes which get clipped and shown all the time and everyone says it’s amazing, went on too long, should have finished when they sold the watch and made millions.
I’m not a David Jason fan either, my young at the time godson approached him at Lincoln castle during a break in filming, asked for an autograph and got told “ fuck off im working”
Vicar of dibley meh, not fit to lace father teds shoes tbh.
Faulty towers good, but shown way way way too often, and a couple of dud episodes in that as well.
