The Goggle Box Thread

On a similar note I watched Annika on BBC One when I got home after the game last night. I normally like Nicola Walker.

This is absolutely fucking shit, do not go anywhere near it. Boring plot, crap supporting actors, appalling teenage angst sideline and some added stupid breaking the fourth wall stuff which is incredibly cringey.
Tried Annika a while back and gave up. The Fourth Wall stuff was nonsense and the culprits seemed to admit their guilt as soon as they were challenged

Ha, we're having exactly the same experience.

So many poor choices.

But the most bewildering thing for me is how does a Vicar own a house that must be worth a million plus given it's near London?
Don't members of the clergy get put up in houses owned by the church?

Jamie Tartt's mom looks exactly how you'd expect Keeley's mom to look, and it's making me dislike myself

The faux shock from ITV execs about the Schofield stuff coming out that they all knew about years ago is something to behold.

Currently watching Frasier on Paramount.

Never really watched it when C4 had it on but enjoying it after rewatching Cheers.

1 thing is doing my head in though.
So Daphne Moon with her Northern accent, born and bred in Manchester yet every single British friend or a family member have insanely terrible Cockney accents.

It's like they got Dick van Dyke to teach everyone of them how to do a British accent

Particularly as Jane Leeves who played Daphne, although a genuine Brit, was from Essex.
John Mahoney who played Martin was actually from Blackpool...

Approaching the end of Picard series 2.
Fucking hell, it is awesome, and apparently series 3 is the bomb!
It has 3 strands of my favourite types of stories included.
Absolutely loving it. Almost as much as the kind folks who avoided spoilers throughout!

Started re-watching Chernobyl with Helen over the weekend and forgot just how brilliant it was. Had an itch to scratch as I've got to wait until next weekend to carry on watching it so started Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes on Sky Atlantic last night and it's such a harrowing documentary. The scale of that disaster is just mind blowing.

Yep S3 is brilliant.
This is the best one for me.

All 3 are very different which is a feat in itself.

Superbly well done and will be interesting to see what Amazon does with some of the other Trek stuff

3rd season of I Think You Should Leave is now on Netflix. Very silly, but very fucking funny. My missus can't stand it, so YMMV

The Last King of the Cross. Streaming on Paramount+, the series tracks John Ibrahim's rise from a poverty-stricken Lebanese immigrant with no education, no money and no prospects, to Australia's most infamous nightclub mogul.

Started that on Friday. 4 episodes in, not bad so far.

Been watching the last man in the world and banshee. Both a few years old but very enjoyable.

Banshee is ace. Due for a third run on that very soon.
