The Goggle Box Thread

I mean that *is* old fashioned, isn't it :D

If you saw someone in say, 2005 using a Walkman you wouldn't think it was commonplace.

Probably is tbf. My phone is pretty basic, plus I listen to a lot of bootlegs & odd stuff I download more often than standard albums or other stuff I could Spotify etc.

I remember my first mp3 player. It had 128mb of memory!
My first computer Amstrad CPC 6128 had 128k of memory that's 0.128mb (ironically that's very similar to the amount of memory I have now ! )

Where abouts in this fine County are you?

Openreach really should be actively dealing with speeds like that. Unfortunately you can't speak to them, only your ISP can, and it's a lottery whether anything actually gets sorted.

I was getting similar <1MBps speeds in my old house about 5-6 years ago, Plusnet did get in touch with Openreach and after sorting out some dodgy ancient wiring from the telegraph pole it was all sorted. Kudos to them. But equally you can end up in an infinite loop of the problem being passed very slowly from one to the other and nothing happens.

I trailled a 3 mobile 4G broadband when I was temporarily without a fibre connection and it was pretty good. Couldn't quite manage TV Catch-up without buffering, but fine for computer usage. You can try it for free for 30 days. I had no problem returning mine.
