The Goggle Box Thread

You'll get to see a very young James McAvoy!

Kenny, Langers and I went to see the live stage version a couple of years back in Salford.

Early Doors is back on iPlayer from tonight. Magic. One of my absolute favourites of all time.
They're making new ones aren't they?

I didn't get into this until somebody posted some of the clips on Twitter a few years ago.

Very funny.

I really really hope they are but this is the first I've heard of it?

It's a sublime show, so incredibly underrated.

Only stuff I have seen on a new series is a petition for the BBC to do one and Cash and Mealey saying that they had a 3rd series ready to go back in the day.

There was a piece in the guardian about the return to the iplayer but it makes no mention of a third series.

Manchester Evening News ran with this just before Christmas but made it out it was being readied for commission. Naughty click bait article.

Watched the latest Storyville after the match last night. Called "A Bunch Of Amateurs", about a small film club in Bradford. So brilliant. Funny, charming, sad, heartwarming and heartbreaking all in 90 mins. Definitely worth watching for a slice of something completely different.

Watched the first one. Off to a good start using my favourite Roddy Frame song for the intro.
First two watched. It's OK so far. A few chuckles.

Annoying that they've only released two episodes though. Surely an old show like that they'd just release them all at once.

Its one of those shows that every time you watch you notice something else.

Listen out for the Police Radio calls for instance

I always forget the great lines/comebacks that Winnie the cleaner has.

"he was going out with your sister at the time though wasn't he..."

Will rewatch when all 6 are available but that is the line to Jean when she is talking about how great it was to find the man she will spend the rest of her life with isn't it?

"I'm thinking of making this happy hour, Tommy - what do you think?"

"Piss off"

😂😂

That's the one

Joined in and watched the first 3 last night. Decent.

At first I thought the young couple was the same couple as in Shameless but it's a different girl with James McAvoy. But she was also in it as a minor character. Janice too.

@Langers have you seen 'Our flag means death'?

Pirating mirth from the 'What we do in the shadows' writers.
