The Football News Thread 2024/25

I know I'm going to word this terribly and basically make it look like I'm some sort of nonce but here goes.

If this is true he will have been found "guilty of sharing child porn". It just seems a bit much as a label. Like I know it's a child and so it's the law, but it just doesn't pass the sniff test for me.

Obviously in his position, the basic rule should just be "No ID, no D", given a 15 year old can look 21 and vice versa, then you're never in the shit, but if it's a slip up rather than actual noncing it seems a bit harsh.
Statutory (dunno if there's a different word over there) is extremely complicated for me, but ultimately he's the adult and a massive name; the power imbalance between him and any minor is miles wide. He has to take some amount of responsibility.

Depending the details, I'd probably advocate intensive therapy over jail time, but that's with a very American perspective on jails/prisons. I don't really believe that most men are going to make a breakthrough on their misuse of their influence while behind bars, I suppose.

"Noncing" is like doing something sexually deviant? I've always liked "nonce" as an insult but had a sense it was one to be careful with.

What is the legal age in Spain? 14? I think it used to be

Several teammates, 2 young girls, they weren't asking in the first place were they, let alone then posting the pictures.
Five years not a bad starting point in my book.
Sharing child porn may seem a bit much as a label, but knowing the internet, ask yourself what label is the girl getting.
It's child porn, maybe even rape?
I know what he'd get if it was my daughter.

Nonce is just a slang word for paedophile here. Statutory rape is definitely a grey area, but generally the courts here take a dim view once the age gap is 3+ years. For example, a 17 year old boy with a 15 year old girl wouldn't result in a custodial sentence if the only question around consent was purely statutory ie she isn't capable of giving consent by virtue of her age.
