He is considering suing the BBC now claiming he's been made a scapegoat for the Huw Edwards affair!
Nicked from elsewhere.

They are doing a documentary together to talk about how they feel the BBC has treated them badly. Working title is Huw Jenas

Nice little curio from the weekend.

James Milner (of course formerly of Leeds, Man City and Liverpool) is now the individual player with the most career wins against Man Utd.

Brighton new signing O'Riley with a horrible introduction to his new team. Debut v Crawley on Tuesday and gets his ankle destroyed after 10 mins. Now faces surgery on the injury. Club just saying it's serious, so sounding like a long time out for him.

Was a shocker of a challenge as well and wasn’t even booked

You do wonder with referees sometimes.

Looking back at Wolves down the years, Muscat on Bellamy, Muscat on Holmes, Sidwell on Guedioura, Howey on Thomas, Carbon on Ndah, Kay on Zyro, not a single red card there which is just ludicrous.

Holmes did get 250k payout for Muscat's challenge though I guess.

Not sure any of the others did and they all had their careers significantly impacted.

The challenge on Zyro wasn't a red either was it?

*missed the Zyro one

Jay Williams the Crawley captain made the tackle and it was a horrible tackle.
Johnny Williams on Slaw in 2012 was an awful challenge that he just got a booking for.
Wasn’t it Anthony Kay of MK Dons on Zyro?
Worst one I’ve seen is Nick Marker on Ben Thornley in the mid 90’s in a reserve game pretty much condemned him to football at a lower level.
Goes back to the argument of the EFL giving the European sides lower league opposition in the 3rd round it’s not beneficial as you often come up against cloggers with points to prove.
The same as playing local sides from division below in pre season you always get someone treating like their cup final.
Lee Howey was a thug and blatantly targeted Geoff Thomas after he’d ran the length of the pitch to score and pretty much finished his career.

Shrewsbury on Neves.

Although I think that game helped Neves.

Yep could’ve been a lot worse though, Williams tackle on O’Riley was the old fashioned “leave one on him early on” type tackle you use to see about 30+ years ago.

Good thing about the PL is that it’s pretty much eradicated the attitude of thuggery on the pitch and most bad challenges are mainly miss timed or poorly judged.
Someone will accuse us of going all soft and allowing the game to be ruined by lesser men.

Don't think that was anywhere near as bad as the other examples. Could have been a red card (by the standards of 2012, it wouldn't have even been a question 10 years beforehand) but it wasn't an assault explicitly aimed at hurting the player.

The issue there was the referee choosing to apply different standards based on the name on the back of the shirt.

Ben Thatcher on Pedro Mendes for complete and utter malice towards an opponent.

There's an apology in Merson's near future. Presenter read out Sven's farewell message, and he thought it would be a good time to say afterwards '...and don't wear brown, wasn't it? Didn't he say not to wear brown'. Because Clinton Morison is wearing a brown jacket. Bellend.
