I know. But I think the wall was so bad it would have gone in from the original position. Hence my frustration would be driven at the players for total incompetence.

And If we are bringing this back. We need to do the same from when the exact same thing is done from indirectly scored freekicks where players do the exact same thing.

I agree on the wall, it wasn't good but Toney moving the ball changed that angle and made it even easier to score.

On indirect free kicks, the ball is in the foam and I've not seen one moved.

I’ve seen players move it plenty. But more to get a better spot to kick from than change the angle. But they are moving it the same distance nonetheless.

A seperate point but then there’s obviously the issue of free kicks not been taken from where the foul was initially given. I remember Moutinho took it about 10 yards in front of the foul for the Neves goal against Villa at home in 19/20. Now I can’t remember if this was a total ref error or Moutinho took the piss a little or a bit of both. Should we be bringing this back for a “clear and obvious error”?

I think so as it was us gaining an advantage directly to score a goal.

It's the laws of the game. We get pissed off when it happens against us, don't really have a right to get cheesed off if it happens for us.

It's actually a case of the ref being lazy.
The instructions on the aerosol clearly state 'Foam must be released no more than 12" from the grass. This will prevent foam being picked up and moved.'
Refs consistently barely bend their backs and give a little 'poof' and the foam lands gently on the grass where it'll set quickly and can then be moved at the players convenience.
There's an update to this, Foam is now available in pre sprayed lengths and can be given out before kick off to spare refs from bending their backs at all.
