Villa announce new matchday pricing.

Cheapest Category B ticket is £40.50. Most expensive Cat A ticket is £80.

£63 for middle of the Holte End for Cat A games.
Yeah a lot of fans are really pissed off with it. Rightfully so too. They have also introduced a new thing for the season ticket waiting list as well where you can pay a lump sum (£480 I read) and you essentially jump the queue for a season ticket (which currently stands at about 10,000 people). Everyone blaming the guy that replaced Purslow, Chris Heck. Apparently he did something similar with the 76ers in America.

Don't think we're anywhere near £68 for behind the goals!
It is £63 at Villa but yeah fair, I think it was 55 in Billy Wright last season, but would need to confirm.

It was 47 behind the goals IIRC, I'm sure it'll break 50 when they announce them.

So no, we're not as bad. Getting there though. Especially when you throw in the 40 quid to be a member too (Villa I'm sure have their own version of this?)

How much per game does an ST work out at now?

I don't get people who read too much into friendly results or get worked up by them. They're friendlies, the results mean almost nothing. Under Nuno we half-arsed most of them as we saw it solely as a way to build fitness (which it is!). If we lost every friendly it genuinely would not change how I feel about our prospects this season in the slightest.

Wesley Fofana’s done his ACL again. That’s awful for him, he’s so young you have to doubt he’ll ever be able to have much of a career.

When I was a kid, the Panthers went 4-0 during preseason and everyone was stoked on how great they would be. Then they won the season opener and things were really popping off.

Then they lost their next 15 in a row.

Net relevance of preseason results? Nil and then some.

Think the year mick took us up we lost a pre season friendly 6-2 against a L2 or lower side & many seemed to panic.

We certainly did under Dave Jones. Morecambe whacked 6 past us (the result/performance was carried into the season though)

Mick we were losing at places like Wrexham by the odd goal

Was it Nuno's first season that we played Aldershot in the Cup and nearly got sniped? Remember some discomfort at that (nothing OTT, I think).

Granted, not preseason, but shows how even in real competition how thin the margins are.

I was thinking morecambe but wasn't sure. Nice to learn other things I was more certain of were wrong! :ROFLMAO:

Stale I think. Won on pens

Lost to Morecambe in 13/14 under Jackett, was in the League Cup.

For another example of how little you should read into friendlies, fairly sure Everton beat some Austrian side 22-0 in the preseason before playing us on the opening day.

How dare you forget our glorious Uhrencup win under Nuno.

Then we won the Premier League Asia Trophy under him (plus used the Europa League qualifiers for fitness, Crusaders and Pyunik were competitive games in name only) and in 2020 didn't have any friendlies as the PL made us start our season about four weeks after we finished playing in Europe.

Beat Yeovil 1-0 right at the start of Nuno's time in the League Cup, Dicko scored late on (Jordan Graham assist). We weren't very good, Benno did a Stearman impression for 90 minutes and we spent most of the game trying to give Dave Edwards a goal (he failed).

Mostly notable for a) Coady being sub and being FUCKING LOUD on the touchline as a fake coach and b) Doc's "warm up" as sub which drove the bench mental :D and he didn't come on in the end.

That headline wouldn't be too bad if it was something like that barmy friendly we had with several brawls and red cards

When we beat Paul inces blackburn 4-2 in a pre-season friendly I thought they looked shite and we looked alright. We won the league and I think incey got sacked quite quickly

But that was off the back off a less-than-stellar pre season from us.
