I've had seats at a handful of gigs, it really is an awful way to enjoy music and has only been dictated to by ticket availability.

After a fair few years of sitting down its really lost its appeal, like standing at the bar something else I don't do anymore.

depends on the music really. been to a few classical shows, orchestral things, ludovico einaudi etc, all better sitting down.
saw sigur ros play a fairly rocking set, but enjoyed it from the seats. you get to see the light/stage show.
obviously the more upbeat gigs would in the main be better standing. That said, as a perennial short arse, I can see better from a seat.
First choice (for a music gig) would be standing though, in the main.

I don’t go to many gigs these days but if I did I’d probably sit now. I’m a short arse and can’t be bothered with spending the whole gig being annoyed by lanky fuckers blocking my view. Plus, my moshing days are long behind me!

Had seats for Kate Bush. Otherwise I would normally have standing. When I took Micro to a gig we had seats for Slayer and that definitely was less fun than being in the pit.

Other end of the spectrum but I'd probably sit as I used to get sick of short fuckers behind me moaning they couldn't see. Same as football too.
