By all accounts she's got no interest in the club at all (mind you like you say, money is irrelevant to her).

Now there's a club that have made some absolute howlers in the market. We broke them when we beat them in the cup under Lambert, they've been terrible ever since. They keep buying loads of our ex-players as well.
Not so sure about that as my understanding was that she is a big fan. I think we’ll find out this summer - if she wants to get them back to the PL she will throw some money at it now they have a half competent manager in O’Neill. Hopefully not and they fester in the Championship for a few years before sliding into L1.

Looks like the away goal rule is getting binned off in Europe next season.
Very archaic law plus never sits easy when teams progress without actually beating the opponents.
The away goal rule allows you to lose, win and draw all in one game.

Sorry jd, Keys agrees with you so it’s clearly the wrong decision to scrap away goals.

Has he fuck, the gorilla mitted bastard.

A decade ago he was in purgatory after he was sacked by, er sorry he resigned from Sky.

Might lead to some defensive games but again it makes 0-0 at home a less appealing result.
More ET and penalties yes but at least you’ll have out done the opposing side.
Drawing 0-0 at home then getting an early away goal then trying to sit in Jose style doesn’t make for great viewing either.

The play offs that got rid of it more than a decade ago and it's undeniably improved it

10% of first legs have been 0-0? Ok what’s the the most common scoreline in the first leg? 10% is actually a lot considering the numerous variations that are possible.

What % are dreary 1-0 games?
Biggest problem I’ve got with away goals is you lose 1-0 away then lead by the same score in the second leg it turns the game into very much sudden death going into the last 10 minutes. This then leads to reserved football.

VAR absolutely panned by 33k of fans in the largest survey conducted on the impact of VAR on the prem.

Should have also added the question “would you turn your back on football if Mike Dean doesn’t retire by the end of next season?”

Tl;dr

  • 33,000 respondents
  • 95% experienced VAR in stadium, 94% say it makes football less enjoyable.
  • 91% of match going fans say delays too long
  • 26% still support VAR
  • 13% think VAR has improved decisions
  • 63% are against VAR being used in some but not all stadiums (domestic cups)
  • GLT has 97% support
Would've hoped more people saw how problematic using it now and then in the cups is.

Would've been good if they/we knew what support there was at the start of last season. I'm one of the most anti VAR voices on here but I was indifferent to it actually coming in. If they could illustrate it had roughly 60% support and that's reduced to 26% then its more meaningful than a singular number.

That was

taken as a given with a predicted 100% agreement.

Makes no difference if you aren't changing the cretins
Not sure I fully agree TT. VAR can only slow the game down and reduce the spontaneity.

I also think its hard to argue that bad decisions have lead to really good games/iconic moments in football.

Either way, we are all agreed that our refs are dreadful and there is no chance of implementing any improvement to VAR (as I'm sure its never going away) without sorting the ref standard in the Pl first.
