No other continent has the logistical or climatic issues Africa has. It’s a stupid time to have a tournament in a continent bisected by the equator.

Africa is not a country. It’s a massive fuck off big continent.

Just because they play in our summer in a small number of countries it doesn’t mean it’s a suitable time to play elsewhere.

The objection is that it effectively narrows the list of host nations to a handful. The continent is much too large and features too many climates.

Personally I don't mind countries in the south of Africa hosting the AFCON during June/July, but as Tred says, those months will make west African hosts a disaster.

Even in Southern Africa, it would pretty much be SA, zim, Zambia or Angola. Anywhere further north than Zambia will be into the rainy season - the other countries are very sparse on either people or suitable stadia.

West Africa is where the money is for CAF, which makes it an even more daft idea.

Originally FIFA were going to hold a World Cup in fucking Qatar in the fucking summer. It's 33 degrees in Doha right now. It's 1am over there. That's your mark for how much they care about logistics.

It's still going to be a disaster even now they've moved the calendar, but that's another argument.

Thank you for making this point. A bug bare of mine too. ACN will be adversely affected by this, hopefully adjustments are made for player safety depending on the host country.
