Sturridge injured again. Done his hamstring v Newcastle.

He must have a full Christmas diary to fulfill so he was in need of another injury. I bet his contract isn't appearance based.

How many injuries has he had? No sooner is he fit that he gets another injury. I do not think he should be considered for Euro 16 squad unless he can have a run of games behind him.

Daniel Sturridge's appearances since joining Liverpool in January 2013

2012-13: 16 out of 21 games (76.19%)
2013-14: 33 out of 43 games (76.74%)
2014-15: 18 out of 58 games (31.03%)
2015-16: 6 out of 23 games (26.09%)I

The reason given for Sturridge being on the bench v Newcastle was he was suffering with aching and stiff muscles for 2 days after the Southampton game. Maybe they should have left him out altogether if he was struggling before the game.

In better news. Merton council have given Wimbledon permission to build a new 11k ground on Plough Lane. Finally Wimbledon are going back home.

Excellent news...I really like AFC and they deserve to go home. It will shut the arsehole MK fans up about where they play

That is assuming that the development isn't challenged. It would mean the end of the only greyhound track in London now that Walthamstow is long consigned to history.

Not sure what to think about Bolton. I've always said that I wouldn't care if they ceased to exist and faded into oblivion but TBH now this has happened, I still find it quite sad for their supporters.

An utter scuzzhole of a club and don't get me wrong, I hope they do go down - which is looking very very likely - but I wouldn't want to see any club cease to exist. I just hope we never have to play them ever again.

Whatever we think of them as a club, they have non-playing staff on the kind of money you and I are on, and there's a strong chance they won't get paid just before Christmas. No-one genuinely wants that to happen to anyone.

Very true. Bolton are in a sorry state but I wouldn't wish oblivion upon them. Relegation, absolutely, but no club should go to the wall (except Portsmouth who totally deserved it)

Yep, exactly.

How the hell are they going to get out of the level of debt they find themselves in though? £170m or something isn't it?

Isn't it pretty much all owed to Eddie Davies and he views it as non-interest-bearing loans?

It's an odd situation as most (not all) of it is owed to Eddie Davies, and he isn't really after that money back - he just won't fund the club any further, which is why they're struggling now, they have no working capital and a lot of outgoings.

I suspect those interested in a takeover are waiting for the club to slip into administration so they can get away with a settlement to creditors rather than taking it on as the massive loss-making and indebted outfit it currently is.

Pad: Don't buy the kindly Uncle Eddie thing wholesale, those loans have been interest bearing for a long time. Up to 10% in some years when they were in the PL and interest was still being drawn as recently as last season at around 3%.

Ouch

At that interest rate that is over £5m a year just to service the debt.

Would you believe Gartside paid himself a £400k bonus in the year they got relegated from the PL and lost £22m? Absolute snake. Though again, wouldn't wish his current plight on anyone.

Arsenal don't get a break in the Champions League, do they?
