League goals only?

Don't think Rooney has got 20+ in the PL very often. Twice maybe.

407 appearances for RooRoo, 185 goals, 97 assists, 83 yellows, 1 double yellow (red), 2 straight reds. League only.

And, to no one's surprise, your guess is right on; Rooney has scored more than 20 in a season only twice, in 09/10 (26) and 11/12 (27).

Seems crazy, looking back, that United shelled out 25m for him when he'd only scored 15 goals in 67 appearances for Everton.

Yeah it's twice for league goals:

He says he's only really been up front properly twice though:

"My best position - and I've always said it - is as a striker, getting into the box.
"The two seasons I've really done that as a lone striker are my two best goalscoring seasons. I hope to score 20 or more goals again. If I'm playing as a striker, then I will be disappointed if I can't do that again."

His first season was heavily off the bench which skews things a bit, they bought him really off the back of Euro 2004 where he looked like he was going to be the best player in Europe. And then he wasn't.

He's an odd one, he'll end up breaking all kinds of records for United and England but no-one will ever think of him *that* fondly when he finishes, and it's not just because he can be an objectionable prick at times. Certainly from an England standpoint I preferred having Shearer and/or Owen in the team.

I think part of the problem is that he's never really looked perfect for any position. Probably why he's been punted around all over the place at different times too.

As good as he's been at times, and as impressive as his career will end up looking in the history books, I think I'll always see him as a bit of a Jack of all trades.

Expectations were unbelievably high after his Euro 2004, which he was incredible in (and I still think we would have won it had he not got injured against Portugal). That said, he's heen a fantastic player, consistently so too, and as I think many predicted with his style and how big he was at such a young age is looming worse for it now physically

A very good finish indeed, but I doubt that he will get that much space and time in the premier league.

Sami Khedira injured already at Juventus. Out for two months with a torn thigh muscle.

Jack Collison is Peterborough's new under 21 manager

He is registered but he's doing his coaching badges too

Bit of a shambles off the pitch at Bournemouth apparently, fan on the radio this morning saying he's been having a nightmare trying to get tickets and the new kit does not go on sale until next week.
I fear it's all gonna end in tears down there.

Doesn't sound like the end of the world to me.

Is he struggling to get tickets because the ticket office staff are shite or is it because popularity has now flown through the roof following promotion? The being launched so late is a bit of a bummer I suppose but that could be the supplier's fault rather than the club.
