Newcastle fans protested that they wanted Pardew out, and they got their wish. I wonder how many of them now wished he had stayed.

I think 99.9999% of them would have kept Pardew if they knew the alternative was Carver. Wanting a manager out for prolonged indifferent (at best) performance and not wanting him replaced by someone I wouldn't have in charge of a pub team are not mutually exclusive.

It's a fair point though, they got carver because Ashley just wants someone to keep the team ticking over without any fuss or expense. Why on earth is mclaren going there?
