Makes you wonder how teams keep making this mistake, seems to happen pretty much every season in 1 competition or another.

Give me strength. How can that be justice? Still it happens to often and clubs should really know better. Incredible

It's incredible.

If I've understood the situation correctly this Bart guy got red carded in the previous season,I think that's 2 or 3 game ban usually. So Legia boys put on their collective brain and doesn't register him for the first two this season thinking he'll be suspended anyway.
Unfortunately for Legia the player has to be registered to play to serve out the suspension.

Celtic given the normal procedural 3-0 win at home,so in fact they go through on the away goal. ;)

Seeded clubs gr. 1: Salzburg, Steaua, Apoel, Celtic, Bate.
Unseeded gr 1: Ludogorets, Maribor, Slovan Bratislava, Malmö, Aalborg.

For Celtic I'd want to avoid Ludogorets.

The not champions draw:

Seeded: Arsenal, Porto, Zenit, Leverkusen, Napoli.
Unseeded: Athletic, LOSC, FC København, Standard Liege, Besiktas.

Aye, it really is. Now if it had been an English/known team...

Maribor vs Celtic
Salzburg vs Malmø
Aalborg vs APOEL
Steaua vs Ludogorets
Slovan Bratislava vs BATE Borisov

Besiktas vs Arsenal
Standard Liege vs Zenit
København vs Leverkusen
Lille vs Porto
Napoli vs Athletic

Reasonable draw for Wenger. Tough one for Beardo Benitez.

Spurs vs AEL Limassol
Hull vs Lokeren

Hull acquired Europa League access by being the runner up for the FA Cup. Tottenham got access from acquiring the left over League Cup place. Why did Hull have to play a qualifying game and Tottenham did not?

Because Hull have no UEFA coefficient whatsoever.

So entry is based on coefficient and not from winning a domestic competition? Lets say the rolls were reversed and Hull finished fifth while Tottenham won the FA Cup. Would it be the same outcome?

They mix and match it quite a bit, I *really* wouldn't try bunkering down and trying to make sense of it :icon_lol:

Think about the Champions League, City won the league in 2011/12 and still got a rock hard group of Dortmund, Real and Ajax in 2012/13 (although they didn't have to pre-qualify). Miles harder than what Arsenal got and they finished 4th.

Generally coefficient is more important than what you've won domestically. Generally. Although 5th place (being the only automatic spot granted to the Premier League) means no pre-qualification, just as finishing in the top three means no pre-qualification for the Champions League. At least for as long as the Premier League remains one of the top three ranked leagues within UEFA.

As an aside I believe this year that if someone wins the FA Cup who has qualified for Europe through the league, the place won't default to the runner up. It'll go to the next available place in the Premier League.

Coefficient decides which round you enter and seeding,I believe the league/FA etc decides if the order of entry is ie Everton,Spurs,Hull or Everton,Hull,Spurs.
Hull with only the league coeff would always start earlier,Liverpool would probably have started in the playoff/Man Utd would probably have gone straight to the groups?
