Hazard and Kane for me, not even close on either.

Coutinho :icon_lol:

Fabregas hasn't been at his best for a couple of months but he was unplayable from August-December. Far better than bloody Coutinho.

Matic is the odd omission I reckon, he has been immense.

I would have said De Gea personally! Hazard will win it I reckon though

De gea has been incredible this season, but forwards firat usually..so i reckon hazard and kane will take it

Can you win both? If so De Gea waltzes both of them for me.

De Gea has been fantastic but Hazard will win Chelsea the league and Kane is the top scorer in the country, bar our Benik. No way a keeper wins under those circumstances.

As an aside allowing anyone under 24 in the Young Player category is nonsense. Hazard has been playing top level football for 5-6 years, so has De Gea.

Eden's been good to be sure but I don't think he's single-handedly lead Chelsea to the title.

Maybe the "Young Player" award should be reconstituted into a "Newcomer" or "Breakout" award?

Agree with that Alan, it'd be much more meaningful as a breakthrough award, rather than just duplicating the majority of the shortlist.

Either way though, it's Hazard and Kane for me.

I'd take De Gea over Hazard for the top award, United would be nowhere near their current position without him, he kept them in so many games when they were absolute tosh so they could sneak undeserved points. Don't think Hazard has really sustained his form for as long a period as him, he was very good before Christmas but as with the whole Chelsea team I don't think he's been that good since then.

I expect the award will go Hazard's way though.

I'd quite like it if the lists were separate personally. Young player 21 and under band if you're on the main one then not on the young player list.

Middlesbrough aren't big on goalscorers by the sounds of things, apparently the 17 goals scored by Bamford this season has broken a 25 year old record for their highest scoring player in a season, seems a woefully low bar.

Who held the record previously?

Bamford was phenomenal on Tuesday night. Clear Premier League quality IMO, his movement off the ball is just brilliant.

Bernie Slaven ( he was really crap ) Moved to Darlington after a spell at Port Vale and was the slowest, most imobile thing I've ever seen on two legs!

Has happened 3 times

Ronaldo and Bale who within a couple of years of doing it ended up at Real Madrid

and Andy Gray who of course within a couple of years of achieving it ended up with us (for a British record fee at the time)

I would have thought that Ravenelli would have beaten that amount but obviously not. Did Uwe Fuchs pre date Slaven?

Think Ravanelli got 16, in the PL though so fewer games.

Fuchs didn't score that many.

Can't believe Alfonso Alves didn't smash it out the park personally.
