George Thorne has done his cruciate, will be out for pretty much the whole season.

Some rumours going round that CAS will overturn FIFA's world ban on Suarez, only leaving the international ban in there...

As he is now out of the Premier League I really couldn't care. If Barcelona beat Liverpool down because of the ban and then it was overturned I might permit myself a small snigger.

I feel the same way. ;) Should trigger another rawk moment.

Carrick's out until October/November so you've got to put either Cleverley, Fletcher or Fellaini where he is in that formation. Which makes an already deeply flawed setup look even worse.

Herrera played there last night, I think.

Herrera played there last night, I think.

Herrera was already in the team YW posted. Carrick was too but clearly he's not available, hence one of the others I mentioned will have to play as it stands, which is no good for a team with title aspirations.

D'oh, how didn't I see him in there?

David Sullivan's gobshite son reckons Andy Carroll is out for four months.

Confirmed on the BBC. Ankle ligaments. Mind you, he apparently complained of a 'sore foot' and they then found the injury: either he's got a pain threshold the likes of which has never been seen or something somewhere doesn't add up as I'm pretty sure, having done ankle ligaments myself, that it is more than just a bit of a twinge.

Carroll does seem the sort to have an exceedingly high pain tolerance.

Carroll is massively overrated..hasnt done anything last 2-3 years

Two good results for Scottish teams in Europa League qualification tonight - St Johnstone knocked out Luzern on penalties and Aberdeen got a win away at Groningen. Motherwell however got dumped out by Stjarnan of Iceland.

Good results all around for the swedish teams too

Bad week as expected for Norwegian teams in Europe.Strømsgodset out of the CL quals 0-3 agg vs Steaua B,Tromsø out 1-2 agg vs Faroe giants Vikingur in the EL,Haugesund out 2-3 agg vs Sarajevo in the EL.

Molde knocked out Gorica 5-2 agg in the EL,and Rosenborg experiencing new manager effect sent Sligo out 4-3 agg.

Didn't Sligo win the first leg 3-0? Good result for Rosenborg.

Didn't Sligo win the first leg 3-0? Good result for Rosenborg.

No Sligo won the first leg 2-1 away, then went 1-0 up in the first few minutes, so good comeback from Rosenberg.

Bad week for Irish clubs but nothing knew there, but what can you expect when a useless, arrogant, smug, tosser John Delaney in charge of the FAI gives himself a new 5 year contract at €350k a year which is approx. 3 times greater then the prize money the league champions will get this year (also more apparently then his German equivalent!), shows where they stand in the scheme of things.

Good result, really poor match.Better than bad result, really poor match in the first leg. :) Rosenborg will go out next round so doesn't really matter these days.Molde is the only Norwegian club with any chance at all to reach the EL groups.
