The Film Thread

I watched Frankenweenie last night. It's ace. Not always a fan of Tim Burton, but this was great.

Not sure whether this is good news or bad news...

The years havent been kind to Mark Hamill.

Saw Taken 2 last night, whilst Taken was entertining mindless fun, No 2 is just shit (fnar).

I am sorry but when you have captured a man who previously went halfway around the world and single-handily slaughtered half your gang and smashed your criminal network in 24 hours

You dont leave him on his fucking own!

(Dont think thats a spoiler, its in the trailer but take it down if you think it is)

Leaning towards good at the moment. There's a lot of great stories from the expanded universe that relate to their offspring so it makes sense for the folks to feature but probably in fairly small roles. With the team Disney have assembled I can't imagine they will produce the prequel-esque rubbish that the tired Lucas and his yes men came up with.

I think it's ace news. Quietly confident that I'll really enjoy these films.

My balls are twitching....

I watched Seven Pounds tonight, the Will Smith film. I thought it was fantastic. Odd to know what was going on at first but more and more compelling as it went on and you understood what was happening, and it was also quite moving at times. Will Smith is great in it and I thoroughly recommend it to everyone. 9/10.

I'll also recommend this one to any that haven't seen it - brilliant movie.

Latest films i've seen....

Taken 2 - pants! no other word for it
Die Hard 5 - enjoyable movie, good comedy moments in it
Wreck It Ralph - great movie, seeing some of the video game characters randomly popping up made me smile "I'm Zangief, I'm bad-guy"
Argo - brilliant, can see why it won Best Film. little slow to start but gripping and a must see
Skyfall - one of my favourite bond movies yet

A Wolf-Hunting level of lateness in my response here. Slightly excited, as long as they are reasonably small parts for Ford and Fisher. With the way the story arc continues Luke Skywalker does remain reasonably important so I imagine Hammill may actually need to have a decent amount of time on screen. Hopefully the new stuff is set 40 years after Jedi and then it all fits in very neatly.

Is Taken 2 pretty much the same as the first one? Dunno if I can be bothered to watch it if it is! Then again I saw Hangover 2.

Just watched Moonrise Kingdom on DVD, cracking film.

Been a lot of talk about trainspotting 2 in the last few days.

I will see that star trek film.
I do really want to see Trance when I get the chance too.

Grandaughters staying with us for the week, currently watching Chicken Little, cracking film!
