The Film Thread

Also watched Hustle last night, which was enjoyable. I always prefer Adam Sandler in his non comedic roles.

Thor Love & Thunder.

Not great unfortunately. Starts off funny, then they just keep going way too hard with the humour and it just wears thin. The bad guy isn't really that bad or scary, and ultimately doesn't do anything. The whole thing is very inconsequential and meaningless unfortunately.

4/10.

Taika has had his moment in the spotlight. People are turning on him now.

I still like him, I loved Jojo Rabbit.

But his comedy stuff is horrendous. What We Do In The Shadows was painfully unfunny. He has a tendency to overdo it, like in this.

I, for one, think he takes Marvel exactly as seriously as it should be taken: not at all.

I'm not sure I can arsed to read through it once, tbqh.

Marvel heroes never landed for me, though. I was the weird kid who though Spiderman was stupid.

EDIT: Jesus, those guys are seriously invested in Thor's "character arc", ay?

One of the best comedy series in recent years, I agree, to you it's probably no Mrs Browns Boys but I liked it

It's painfully try hard shite. And I love Matt Berry.

Whenever Watiti gets free reign over the "humour" it becomes painful. As the new Thor film demonstrates.
