The Film Thread

Saw it late last year at the cinema (first and last time we have gone since the pandemic started). Unfortunately I found it very disappointing.

I’m a big Christopher Nolan admire. I think he’s one of the very film-makers today that can make interesting through-provoking films with a sense of real cinema and his fascination with time and how it plays out in his films is often breathtaking but I found this film an incoherent mess.

Inception, Interstellar and Dunkirk are terrific movies - IMO Tenet despite the technical wizardry is not.
Loved inception but disliked the others. His best film is Batman Begins although Prestige is excellent too.

Watched Together last night (James McAvoy/Sharon Horgan) on iPlayer, would recommend.

Shoplifters Of The World (Sky Cinema)

Alright if you're a Smiths fan. Film is a bit too quirky and they try and shoehorn lyrics into the dialogue too often. Other than that it was pleasant enough

Tomorrow War - don’t watch it, it’s shite.

Decided to watch something that didn't require any thought so put on the latest Bill & Ted film, watched the first 10 minutes and decided I couldn't be bothered :(

Just watched Official Secrets, the Katharine Gun story, that's worth watching if you get chance

It's truly dreadful. I managed to watch it for a similar time.

You made the right decision. Its proper rubbish.

Shoplifters of the World. Save yourself the time and put The Smiths on shuffle on Spotify. Shite coming of age movie with a great soundtrack

I thought it was a bit better than that. Not by much though.

When jeff tried to save the world - shite

Good boys - very funny but very creepy too. Inbetweeners with 12 year olds.

Went to see THE Suicide Squad earlier.

Terrible lazy title, and that's pretty much reflects the film. Absolutely terrible.

The first hour was just awful. Second hour was better but interspersed with moments of utter baffling nonsense moments. The humour was 90% terrible as well.

It's like a really, really crap version of The Boys but without the good characters and performances.

The only thing stopping it getting 1/10 was Margot Robbie and Idris Elba who were both fairly decent. Everyone else stunk up the place, especially John Cena.

3/10 - Avoid at all costs until on free tv/streaming if you must

Still annoyed about this - TV to myself for an evening and I wasted it watching this nonsense.
Same. Ironically (given the name) I watched The Current War during the week and that was pretty good - would recommend as a 7/10

I saw that a few months ago. Was decent.
