The Film Thread

Haven't seen either (although IW got spoiled for me almost immediately upon release), but Ragnarok is supposed to be very entertaining.

It's decent. Not quite what I expected but still worth watching.

Cowboys' & Aliens - weird as F***, but fairly enjoyable nonetheless (despite somewhat naff Aliens)

Pretty sure that it's not a genre which will be repeated - not that many storylines that can have a western/sci fi combo really

Daniel Craig & Harrison Ford must have regretted signing up for this one :D

Watched Dead Mans Shoes tonight. Another excellent film by Shane Meadows.

Deutschs avatar makes sense now.

Ready Player One - fantastic fun and a wonderfully nostalgic piece of film making from Spielberg. If you're a gamer then this is for you, if you like future dystopian films and despise capitalism this will also ring your bells but most of all if you like '80's music and ticking off the Easter egg characters you will be breaking out the South Park gif. Tremendous fun.

Logan Lucky - Another quality director in Steven Soderbergh makes a hick version of Oceans Eleven which is miles better, nowhere near as smug and damn funny. Daniel Craig's accent is ropey as hell but he steals the entire film.

Proof that whilst superhero movies are good there are better films out there right now.

I really like Ready Player One the book but I was disappointed by the film, I know they have to change bits of it but it was about 90% different! I liked the look of the virtual world and I thought most of the casting was spot on for the characters I knew from the book. I just wish they’d kept more of the original plot

I liked Logan Lucky too. Good fun.

Off to see Deadpool 2 tomorrow afternoon. Really looking forward to that one. The trailer was very funny.

Not read the book so this was new to me and from your review it's worth reading. Probably with Absolute '80's on in the background.

Ready Player One looks ace!!! I will be watching that one very soon.

How the fuck can you read with background noise?? One of my pet hates, I love it silent when I'm reading.

It’s not the best written book in the world but a complete page turner and if you love all the references in the film you’ll definitely like it as there’s tonnes more.

Deadpool 2 was decent but was trying way too hard. Not as good as the first ultimately.

When is Solo out over there?

Same as here, then.

If you've any interest in Star Wars, I highly recommend it. Turned out to be a way better film than I expected. 7.5/10.

I almost went yesterday morning but had a problem booking online, so didn't.

The Witch on Netflix. Cracking little horror film with an ace turn from The Office's Chris Finch.

Everyone raves about it but I absolutely hated it!

I read some comments under reviews and they were very split. I thought it was great - excellent creepy soundtrack, menacing woods, evil twins, girl coming into womanhood a'la Carrie, Finchie, a talking devil goat - what's not to like? Only think I didn't like was the mumbled olde worlde dialogue which got a bit difficult to follow at times.
