The Film Thread

Look, maybe when you all meet up for a curry, you should have a Deer Hunter session afterwards then this madness can be over.

Everyone should watch Deer Hunter at least once. Watched it many times and many times it plays on my mind after watching it. It's in my top 5 films.

Went to see The Avengers Infinity War over the weekend. I enjoyed it, some of the fight scenes are way to long and unnecessary but the film as a whole ties together all of the previous films and is pretty good. You do need to watch most of the films that have gone on previously as there are references all over the place.

I thought it was superb. 2.5 hours flew by.

I'm way behind - I watched Avengers Assemble over the weekend.

I'll try and catch up but I find the vast majority of the Marvel films really, really average. Nothing massively wrong with them but nothing groundbreakingly awesome in them either.

Infinity War was the nuts. Slightly apprehensive as I didn't think Black Panther deserved it's hype. This very much does.

Be nice if there were the odd non-comic book film made every now and again [emoji51]

Well, the Star Wars Han Solo prequel is out soon...

Going to watch Infinity War this Saturday I think. Warmed up by watching Justice League yesterday which was much better than I expected. Some utter drivel scenes but some great ones to even it out.

Incredibles 2! Wreck it Ralph 2! Solo! Deadpool 2! Ant man and Wasp! Ms Marvel!

Wait, sorry got sidetracked...

Watched Infinity War last week, it was good but didn't really live up to what I was expecting. I suppose some of that is my fault as I still haven't watched Ragnarok or Black Panther yet.

I've heard that Ragnarok is basically a prerequisite to Infinity War.

You can get that from the first ten minutes of Infinity War, without seeing Ragnarok you can tell it virtually follows straight on. I'll probably watch it tomorrow afternoon as I have the house to myself for a few hours.

Haven't seen either (although IW got spoiled for me almost immediately upon release), but Ragnarok is supposed to be very entertaining.

Ragnarok is great fun. Much lighter tone than the other Thor films. Plus it has Led Zep in it.
