The Film Thread

Paddington 2 is in cinemas from November 10th in UK, not until Jan in US. If anyone goes to see it can they put a post on here with their thoughts. I'm hoping it's as good as the first, but not sure it will be.

Loved the first! Hope this one is good too.

Actually going to the cinema and never really go. Fully loved Paddington! Just thought it was a nice film and watched the last one at cinema too

Let me know if The Browns & Paddington live up to expectations :)

Hopefully going this weekend or next too - hope its as good a 1. The reviews say it is...

Weren't/aren't you coming back to UK? I remember the eye watering figure that your luggage was going to cost

I am indeed, PPB is coming home :) . I'm not putting on here exactly where, but we have decided on area (surprisingly not Codsall) and will be viewing some houses in Jan. These things take time to sort, organise, and tie up b3h. Hahaha, that eye watering figure is for a Container to be shipped (everything in house and garden except anything electrical) so a bit more than ' luggage'. I was expecting it to be more tbh.

Damn. Should of just done what the old guy from Up did! Keeping it on-topic like a pro there.

Laid up with a nagging, twinging back so guess what I'm gonna watch later... Up. Thanks for that :)

Ain't gonna lie, brought a tear to mine too.

Doctor Strange, brilliant Marvel installment. Decent story line and some fantastic visual effects, I enjoyed it and the girls loved it.

The Man Who Invented Christmas. Excellent with a great big capital. Lovely Chrismassy film for all the family to enjoy.

Booked my tickets for Star Wars!

I don't want to ruin the Christmas films thread with such a negative post, so here's my review of Deck The Halls:

Deck The Halls (2006 - suitable for no-one)

"Dad - can we put this Christmas film on from Netflix?"
"Sure, kids. We've just put the tree up, we're all smiling and happy, basking in the glow of the lights with a wonderful feeling of festive radiance washing over us. That's a GREAT idea. Hey - why don't I get some snacks for us all whilst we laugh, assuming we're not all laughing too hard (for that would be a choking hazard)."
"Great idea, dad!"
"Yeah dad, this will be wonderful - the first festive televisual feast of the Yuletide Period."

<Puts film on>

[Approximately 90 minutes later]

"I hate everything and everyone. Get those decorations down - I don't care if you tear them. Then remove yourself from my company as I have zero goodwill towards mankind, even those I've spawned. I've cancelled supper, and I'm cancelling Christmas."
"Fair point, dad."
"Don't call me that. It's evidence of a once happy union. Go to your room."

0/5 - would not recommend
