The Film Thread

Watched 2 films last night.

Alive - I'm petrified of flying so it was a terrible choice of film but an extraordinary story of survival against all the odds. Thought it was really good.

10 Cloverfield Lane - totally different to what I expected, but creepily claustrophobic and John Goodman is excellent. Not really the sort of film I'd normally go for but I'd definitely recommend it.

Had to sit and watch The Last WitchHunter with Sydney the other night, absolutely fucking abysmal.

Star Trek Beyond

OWWWW - my eyes.

Great fun as a film. I like the plot but sorry the effects and action sequences are just too intense. Even in 2D. I shudder to think what the 3D would be like.

Batman v Superman, some decent little bits didn't make up for what was mainly a steaming pile of dogshit.

Found this one really disappointing. It was indeed crap.

I like my Batman films as well so it was a proper disappointment. So much wrong with it.

Going to see Jason Bourne at the weekend. Been looking forward to this one for ages. If anyone's seen it and thinks it was shit, don't tell me.

Straight Outta Compton. I never realised that Wolverhampton spawned NWA.

Ted 2 - plenty of puerile laughs and some genuinely funny moments. I felt a bit let down by the original so didn't have too many high hopes for this but I enjoyed it.

The Liam Neeson cameo had me in stitches

I Am Wrath. Another predictable vigilante film that is getting to be a bit tiresome. Wife gets killed blah blah blah....

Insidious

Fucking good horror movie, actually. I was surprised.

Mini is getting into them. So I had a splurge on Amazon and when she gets back from town she has The Omen, The Exorcist, Halloween, Poltergeist, and The Medusa Touch to look forward to.

I really enjoyed it but yes the swooping camera and intensity of the action was a touch too much in places. Watched it in 2D and I agree 3D would have been a massive headaches!
