The FIFA Debacle

I hope Figo gets the job...seems like a good genuine guy

Yeah. No self respecting Englishman would pronounce it like that. There's no regional accent in this fine land that does so, especially not Birmingham.

Yeah we've come a long way from when all those in the media that are now having their pound of flesh were blaming Panorama for losing England the 2018 World Cup.

Just how many world cups have been corrupted then?

Corruption goes way back to the early 1990's because that's when France would have begun there bidding process, South Africa only won by 4 votes over Morroco to.

I wonder just how much more will be revealed. I think they may need to look before Blatter's time. The level and scale of the corruption just beggars belief.

I'm not in the least bit surprised TBH. Just pleased that some details are finally starting to leak out and hope that the full extent of these crooks' crimes are revealed.

Blatter didn't become head of FIFA until 1998, Blazer hasn't mentioned Blatter at all in his confession.

It'll be interesting to see if he's dropped in it by these 14 others arrested.

So in effect, the organisation that is meant to be in control of football worldwide could well be rotten to the core. It is just not feasible that Blatter was not aware of what was happening.

we've pretty much always known what fifa was tbh. the only surprise to me is that it may be falling down. i mean there have been a number of documentaries on these people over the years and the way they go about things has always suggested they were serial in their behaviour

Oh no Blatter must have know what was going he's been involved in FIFA since 1975, allowing it to happen when he had the power to stop it makes him just as culpable.
FIFA is rotten to the core and needs complete overhaul.

that's rather like saying it's not feasible james murdoch knew nothing about phone hacking at NOTW despite authorising a ridiculous amount on legal fees to defend a reporter accused of it. it'll ultimately be about the evidence rather than what's deemed feasible. let's hope the US authorities are more professional and less dodgy than our police were and there's sufficient evidence available. anyone remember this ad
