Good for Jenson Button, bad for most other people. Who would be most out of their normal position? I'd go with Michael Schumacher - rarely in the top 10, but in car number 3. In the other direction, it would probably be the Saubers, being numbered behind the Lotuses and HRTs.

I'd be very surprised if that happened. Do you have a link to somewhere that says this (just because I can't find one!)?

Actually, if this was the case, Michael Schumacher would be second on the grid with Lewis's grid penalty.

Morning all - it has been a while since I got up early for Suzuka. Please excuse the typing as I have the lights off to avoid waking the angry early morning squeeze!

First lap - Hulkenburg and Petrov collide at the start, Massa and Liuzzi at turn one, Kubica up to second and then his rear falls off behind the safety car. Vettel, Webber, Alonso, Button, Hamilton behind the safety car. Should be a bastard good race now.

A Red Bull one two. Some exciting stuff in the last few laps.

Very decent race behind the dominant red bulls - I was really impressed by Kobayashi. I was expecting the safety car after Heidfeld planted his car on turn 5 in the last few laps which could have made things entertaining with Button on soft tyres behind Alonso.

Red Bull had plenty in the bag if they needed it, Fernando was never really going to get any closer to Webber.

Spastic moment from Massa at the start, he really needs to stop sulking and man up.

Kamui's an absolute nutter, but it's great to watch.

McLaren really need to up their game. Both Button and Hamilton are now more than a race win behind Webber, and neither of them look likely to do better than fourth at the moment.

Can't see much hope for either of the McLaren boys, 3 horse race for me now. Jenson still seems intent on just getting the car in solid points without really pushing the top guys, at least Lewis has had a go when the opportunity has arised.

For me, Jenson isn't in the same class as Hamilton and Alonso. If the car's not set up perfectly that's him out of the running. With Lewis and Fernando you always knows they can drag something out of the car and that's why they're the best about.

Can't really see past a Red Bull double unless they both have a DNF.

I agree Nando, Button never seemed to push himself, he may have had problems with the car, otherwise i cant see why he didnt go for it. Hamilton sure would have. Maybe he was hoping for cars going out, but that is one hell of a gamble

McLaren are likely to have the best car at Korea from what i've heard, but I also agree it will still end up being a 3 way fight. I see Vettel winning it now, but Webber deserves it more (on race wins thus far!).

Button is far too safe. Needs to be edgier like Hamilton.

Hamilton hasn't finished 3 of the last 4 races though so how can you say Button's approach is wrong? I remember having to defend Jenson last year when people said he wasn't a worthy champion, it just isn't true. Jenson is probably THE smoothest driver on the track, hence he doesn't look like he is on edge very often. McLaren had a nightmare trying to design a car that suited both!

I sort of agree. Button to me is too safe - yes the silkiest driver there is but too safe sometimes where Hamilton is the exact opposite. A mix of the 2 would be perfect.
