The F1 Thread

I quite enjoy watching it, but it's the most corrupt bollocks sport in the world. Nothing to do with the midget though.

What's this got to do with politics? At the end of the day, McLaren made a mistake, they tried to cover it up by claiming it was a serious problem which it evidently wasn't and the FIA have punished them for it.

Some of the debacles regarding Bahrain and the are we going to India/Texas etc or not have been pathetic, but you can't argue with the racing at the moment.

It was a spectacular arsehole moment by McLaren. Not anything to do with Lewis, and the punishment seems draconian, but McLaren have previous for doing exactly the same thing so they got the book thrown at them.

Out if interest, as Lewis is now at the back, is he allowed to change his fuel and tyre strategy as if he had failed to make the top ten?

Yup, but they don't have any fresh soft compounds left so he's in for a struggle.

I just hope Lewis can get into the points. The few times he has started towards the back of the pack are the few times his racing is sublime to watch as he overtakes like the rookie Lewis we all know.

I wonder if that bloke who had £1 e/w on Maldonado to get pole will get paid out?

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Lotus going into turn 1 first at the start. They've had pretty good starts recently.

Heavy rain overnight and a drop in temperature today. I was going to say I fancy a Lotus win today but they've been average when the air and track temperates have been cool.

Interesting. Any chance of a shower during the race? So, do I understand it that Hamilton will start on the scrubbed softs? He may use his extra power in the first stint to zip past all the shit at the back and then fuel for a long second stint I guess. It might get him in the points but I doubt it on this track, especially as Vettel and Button will be trying to improve from midfield as well.

There is no refuelling Paddy. I think he has to start on the scrubbed softs, he should then have a couple of sets of the harder compound which is the better race tyre.

There's a few suggestions of rain, but nothing drastic. 10% chances here and there.

Course there isn't. I forget all the rule changes. He may then go all of one or two laps on the scrubbed softs and then go for clear track.

It should be a cracker with Hamilton, Massa and Senna with quick cars right at the back, Jenson and Webber in the midfield with a new set of softs available and then the inexperience of Pastor and Romain at the front mixed in with Kimi and Fernando. Can't wait!

Apparently Kravitz asked Whitmarsh why the car was underfuelled and he responded by saying they thought they would get away without punishment.

Ferrari's pit stops are unbelieavle. A second quicker than anybody else.

Schumacher must have lost his eyesight there!!

Interesting to see what McLaren do with Hamilton as he is in 4th but not yet pitted like the majority of the field have done so
