The F1 Thread

It's like the wacky races out there, wonderful stuff. Rosberg serenely running away with it, while chaos rules behind him.

Incredible stuff.

Congratulations Nico, top weekend!

Enjoyed that. My son asked what they were doing when they were in the pits and said 'are they changing their batteries?'

hope this season will be more even so not one run away with it like last year with Vettel.

Superb race. Happy for Rosberg. Good to see all the different strategies playing a part and not having a clue who's going to finish where. Was just mental and some fantastic racing. Most enjoyable race for a while.

Really chuffed for Rosberg. I suspected they wouldn't struggle as badly with tyres as the likes of Johnny Herbert predicted (good addition to the team btw).

I was a bit disappointed with Brundle suggesting Button was a lot closer to the win than he actually was around the second stops. Even without Button's bad pitstop (which cost him 7 seconds - 9.7s standing instead of 3) he would have struggled to get anywhere near Rosberg who looked after his tyres really well. Button finished up 20s behind him in the end, mainly thanks to traffic, but I don't think he would have put him under that much pressure without it. Maybe got within 5s but not much more IMO.

Terrific close racing throughout though. Closest racing we've had for ages. Aside from the pit phases it was wheel to wheel stuff throughout. Very enjoyable. Perhaps Mr. Tilke needs to start using less durable conceete for his track surfaces in the future.

Great race and win for Nico, another solid result for Mclaren. This could be a very close season.

The big cock up was pitting hamilton and putting him behind massa. Cost him a huge amount of time. Button actually dealt with the traffic well after his pit stop. Excellent strategy from Red Bull got Vettel a lot higher than I expected from his qualifying. Is this Mercedes now the real deal I wonder? Cannot wait for the next race.

Then you remember it's Bahrain, I hate it. It was better before they messed around with the first sector.

Mind you - I thought Shanghai was a typical Tilke shite-fest until about 8.30 this morning.

Then on to the perennial Barcelona snooze fest.

It's been a sensational start to the year, I'd still back McLaren to win both titles but with how close everybody is it doesn't take much to see everything turned upside down.

Delighted to see Williams competitive again, it's been far too long.

Barcelona looks from the circuit diagram like it should be a great circuit but it is a mare to even think about overtaking apart from into turn 1.
