The F1 Thread

Vettel is guaranteed, along with Hamilton I'd say.

I suppose I should list a top twenty as I see them

1. Jim Clarke
2. Ayrton Senna
3. Juan Manuel Fangio
4. Michael Schumacher
5. Gilles Villeneuve
6. Sebastian Vettel
7. Alain Prost
8. Fernando Alonso
9. Jackie Stewart
10. Jochen Rindt
11. Mika Hakkonen
12. Jack Brabham
13. John Surtees
14. Stirling Moss
15. Nikki Lauda
16. Graham Hill
17. Kimi Raikonen
18. Nigel Mansell
19. James Hunt
20. Nelson Piquet

Good list that Paddington, definitely agree on the number 1 slot although I'd say you have Alonso way too high and certainly not above Jackie Stewart and John Surtees - Vettel too high as well.

Mind you, no Giovanna Amati - terrible! :D

I cant wait to see Raikonen back this year, his appearance on Top Gear reminded me just how much i loved that guy.

If I extend it to include the pre-war European Championships, and ignore current drivers I get:

1. Gilles Villeneuve
2. Bernd Rosemeyer
3. Jim Clark
4. Juan Manuel Fangio
5. Alain Prost
6. Stirling Moss
7. Ayrton Senna
8. Niki Lauda
9. Jackie Stewart
10. Rudolf Caracciola
11. Tazio Nuvolari
12. Jack Brabham
13. Alberto Ascari
14. Mika Hakkinen
15. Ronnie Peterson
16. Mario Andretti
17. Graham Hill
18. Jochen Rindt
19. Jean-Pierre Wimille
20. Nelson Piquet

Ideally I'd like to have got the likes of Emerson Fittipaldi, Chris Amon, Jean Alesi and Achille Varzi in there too.

Pre-war and you do sort of have to have Ascari in there don't you?

Ronnie Peterson was a great driver. James Hunt never ever forgave Patrese for causing the accident that killed him.

I just hope he's motivated enough to fulfil the incredible amount of talent he has.

He claims he has a few points to prove to certain people in F1 so it would seem he has the motivation

Can't wait for tomorrow!

Not sure what can be gained from the practice sessions this morning. Vettel says he's unhappy with car, Alonso sounds happy but the car looked a right handful, McLaren continuing to play down expectations and Mercedes looking there or there abouts/

Impressed by Schumi in the wet, but it is supposed to be dry for the rest of the weekend. Bloody sure the red bulls were running way heavy.

Expecting Lewis to grab pole, with Mercedes close behind.

Oh dear.

Bins it and still in another stratosphere to Massa.

Heads are going to roll at Ferrari.
