The F1 Thread

Max has given Lewis plenty of room to make Copse whilst being on the natural racing line himself. Roles reversed there and Max is being savaged.

Horner is bang on.
He isn’t. Max tries to push Lewis into the pit wall further back on the straight which then puts Lewis on the line where he will not be close to the apex. And Max turns in on him. Racing incident.

We’re all biased but I don’t care. Two cars don’t go through copse. Neither one of them are pulling out. If neither one of them wants to back off then they collide. It’s racing, it happens.

Nonsense. Karun has just clearly shown that at no point has Max forced him towards the wall. Lewis put himself in that position when he decided where to try and make the move.

Not for me. He weaves across when he knows Hamilton is going down the inside. By the corner Lewis is past his rear tyres.

I'm very much more of a fan of Lewis than Max! Just saying it how I see it in this case.

You can pass there, pin them inside and then around them to get the better run into Maggots, that may have been Lewis' best bet with Max making the initial defensive move.

It’s on Lewis for me but it’s not the attempted murder that Horner is making out, it’s a misjudgement in the heat of the moment.

I think this is where I've landed.

Interesting from Szafnauer. He said “if that isn’t a racing incident I don’t know what is”.

And here comes Toto. Both Toto and Horner don’t look great really do they?

you really don't expect the bosses to defend their drivers, especially if you're considering it a 50/50 racing incident?

but yeah, tattling is definitely not a core part of being a principal. ;)

I just think it all feels a bit like crying to teacher by both. A bit unedifying.

the broadcast is terrible today they keep talking over the team radios, will throw to people presenting things that aren't being shown, etc.

Horner saying it was 'dirty driving'....ridiculous comment from a team leader, I know its heat of the moment but thats just ott.
For the me the final incident is down to Hamilton but its driving by Verstappen for most of the lap thats ultimately the cause

I'll agree on that part. I think Lewis takes blame for this accident but any calls about him being dirty/unsafe is uncalled for.

Well yeah the inside just isn’t going to happen. But the only way contact isn’t made is Lewis slamming his anchors on which just wasn’t going to happen. Lewis was desperate though because he backed out all the other times and wasn’t doing it this time.

If anyone is to blame its Lewis as he wasn't anywhere near alongside enough. His line in was compromised by Max's move to the wall though. They both didn't want to back out and both tried to make the corner.

I suspect the stewards will call it a racing incident, but it could easily go in Max's favour. The fact its on lap 1 makes me think it'll be the former.

Fully expect Lewis to blast pass Leclerc and then disappear as far as possible up the road to cover any potential penalty.
