Mercedes fucked it up now. Going to the next race.

Good drama at the end when Lewis tried to get round Verstappen but failed. Be interesting to see how it pans out in Mexico.

Think Lewis only needs one 7th place to win now?

Edit 6th, for 8 points.

I think he wins it if Vettel finishes 2nd or lower (70 points behind and a 2nd place with a DNF for Lewis would mean a 52 point lead with 50 up for grabs)

Would back the Red Bulls to win in Mexico...well Max as someone at RB seems to hate Danny Ric

Should have done the 2nd pit stop when it would put them ahead of Max. Great race though, the top 3 split by 2 seconds and pushing right until the last lap was a good watch. I agree with Sky and bin Frday sessions as the teams went into the race not fully knowing how tyres etc would stand up, so decisions were having to be made pretty quickly rather than refering to stragety options discussed the night before.

Esteban Ocon & Kevin Magnussen both disqualified for fuel irregularities (Ocon used too much fuel on the 1st lap and Magnussen used more than the permitted fuel in the race)

Red bull absolutely dominating in Mexico practice with Renault looking best of the rest so far. Is this what happens when the altitude takes away the engine advantage of Ferrari and Merc?

Same as last year. The Red Bull is the best car in these conditions. Merc and others struggling on the hypersofts which means they can't run on the quickest tyres. Hamilton got 1 lap out of his in P1 and then they fell apart.

Unless the Renault engine borks up, a RB will win and that will give Lewis the Title, regardless of what he does.

How come the red bull works so much better in Mexico?
It not entirely that - they are at altitude so less oxygen for combustion in the engine and this makes all engines less powerful, but as the Renault engine is less powerful in the first place it loses less actual power and essentially makes all engines more level. The Renault itself is doing pretty well too. Obvs McLaren is still shit though.

Thanks, I knew the altitude was involved but wasn’t sure why that made a difference. Less oxygen makes sense.

How has not McLaren managed to get a descent car running after all these time?

Aerodynamically it is utter cack. Only made to look good by the truly woeful Williams.

One of my main memories from Silverstone in July was the first safety car. The two Williams had already been lapped and were allowed off the front of the train to unlap themselves and join the back of the pack before the safety car pulled in. They couldn't get within thirty seconds.

Because they do get the occasional point and that means money. McLaren are already concentrating on next season and possibly even the season after.

Odds on Max taking Danny Ric out in the first two corners?
