The F1 Thread

This has been a truly uninspiring affair. Verstappen aside, it has been quite the snorefest.

The cynic in me would say, now you've got the World Championship Lewis we're gonna let Nico win the rest of the races.

This grand prix was another nail in the F1 coffin. Another boring and predictable race. I used to really enjoy formula one, but now I am not too concerned if Imiss the races.

Massively disappointed with the Mercedes Team over the last 2 races. I know they don't split strategies so they are being equal with their drivers but both Titles are done. If they had split them in Mexico and Brazil, the races might have been a bit more interesting.

Superb lap to get Pole.

Needs to be careful though, he is using an engine close to the end of its life.

No doubt tomorrow will be Nico winning, Lewis cruising in 2nd and everyone enjoying a Sunday evening drive.

Sad news:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-35149963

F1 being only on sky could end up like cricket and be seen as an elite sport with less and less public interest.

I get the sky coverage may be better, but as soon as you remove general access to a sport you condemn it to a slow death imo

At least Channel 4 are taking it over.

BBC are just giving up on Sport. At least they still have fucking Strictly to pollute the airwaves.

At least ITV haven't got it back which was the rumour.

Ah good news, just seen Channel 4 have the rights.

Ch4 are good at sport so should be pretty good - depends on where the ads are i suppose

Channel 4 is about as far removed from ITV as you're gonna get.

Looks like Pastor's time is up at Renault.

Renault wanted to bin him anyway but his deal was sorted before they took over Lotus, however the folk that pay £20m-£35m a year to put the crash test dummy in F1 have failed to pay up. Kevin Magnusseen set to take his seat.

Best thing all round for F1. K-Mag is a quality driver and unfortunately Pastor is not.

Pastor is ok, but I hate seeing young and talented drivers miss out for people that'll never do anything. In this case, I don't actually rate Kevin that highly but he deserves another season to prove me wrong at least. Would much rather Stoffel Vandoorne had a chance to step up though.

Would think he'll take Jenson's place in 2017.

Maldonado clearly not the one who brought the car in on account of it being in one piece.
