The Definitive TWF World XI thread (1986-present) - CENTRE FORWARD VOTING OPEN

My picks might be a bit more modern as I really wasn't interested in football til my late teens so don't think I can vote for a few of the ones that others will. Though I know they're awesome from YT/Internet/Playing FIFA/other people now of course...

Hoping there's some love for Fat/Original/Brazilian Ronaldo! What a monster.

Vote for what you've seen, man. It's no problem.

I won't be voting for Platini for instance because I never saw him play.

#1 in my list of strikers I think.

this is really tough, so many good players..didnt pick schmeichel because of vds, didnt want two man u keepers

My RBs are sorted, pretty straight forward for me.

He played at the 1986 world cup so I reckon he is a valid selection.

I will defo be having Fat Ronaldo.

Gutted that the cut off means I can't go for Socrates or Falcao (the good one) but them's the breaks. I loved the 1982 Brazil side.

Just popping out for half an hour - when I get back the GK results will be up and then we can start on the RBs.

Ok, here are the final scores:

Gianlugi Buffon - 81
Peter Schmeichel - 64
Manuel Neuer - 32
Oliver Kahn - 18
Iker Casillas - 12
Edwin van der Sar - 11
Neville Southall - 9
Rinat Dasayev - 3
Peter Shilton - 2
Andoni Zubizarreta - 1
Jose Luis Chilavert - 1

On with the right backs. Same deal, three picks, in order of preference, 3-2-1 points on offer.

NB: If you pick someone who pretty much never played at right back - so let's say, trying to squeeze Fabio Cannavaro in there - I'll veto it. Got to have played a decent portion of their career there. So in a Wolves context - Kevin Foley would be fine, even though he spent a load of time in midfield too. Karl Henry would not as he played about five games there ever out of 250.

I was just about to ask you what you were on about :icon_lol: Maybe there was some obscure mid 80s Uruguayan right back I wasn't aware of.

Cafu
Philipp Lahm
Gianluca Zambrotta (finest right back to ever grace Wolves training ground)

Are we saying lahm is a right-back? I'm sure I've seen him at left back too?

He's played both extensively. Started in the German national team as a LB, was there for a long time. But he is a natural RB. If he loses here then he's eligible for LB.
