I didn't realise but apparently the PDC offer tour cards to the four semi-finalists from the Lakeside every year. Normally they were automatically turned down because their contracts state that if they reach the semis then they must play the next year, but Dave Chisnall (without doubt with a little monetary assistance from Barry Hearn) broke that mould. To lose the champion though is disastrous. I can see Jan Dekker hanging on for one more year to try and win it and then going over next year.

Will Tony Green refer to Norris as the defending champion next year, or will there just be stoney silence if the 2014 tournament is mentioned to him?

He will most probably explain that the lakeside championship never existed in 2014 and that aliens had us under mind control.
 
MvG batters Taylor 7-0 on the opening night of the Premier League. That's some statement.
 
Another defeat for Taylor tonight. 5-7 to Gary Anderson. That's four defeats out of five.
 
I think he may be gone. Lost the fear factor. Shame, but Phil has had a brilliant career. I think retirement beckons soon as he wants to win everything and MVG and Co are now significantly ahead of him.

Phils still got 18 months on a contract with Barry Hearn apparently, I think the weight loss and the new darts have affected him badly but he'll come back, he always does.
 
He'll get that drift sorted and he'll get out of the bottom two.
 
He is now getting on a bit though. He tried weight loss before and it screwed him up. New darts are proving a disaster this time. I think we are coming to the end. He will honour the remainder of his contract and then I expect him to go into punditry.

Lets hope he is no Wayne Mardle geez he was bad again tonight.
 
He should have got at least a draw tonight to be fair. Sloppy doubles but his scoring was better than in the other matches he's lost.
 
No-one stays at the top forever. Phil Taylor has been the best for years, now it is time for others to take his mantle.
 
The Coral UK Open from Butlins Minehead Resort starts tonight on ITV4. Shame it's moved from Bolton as it was one of my favourite events to go to, but guess they can make more money holding it at Minehead.
 
Taylor knocked out 9-7 by Aden Kirk who frankly I've never heard of.
 
Kirk played really well. Hit his doubles when Taylor couldn't.
 
Lewis v Jenkins in the final, MVG knocked out by Jenkins in the semi's. Lewis must be fancying his chances against the Bull.
 
Jenkins annihilated 11-1 in the final, Lewis far too good.
 
Why was the Open not on Sky, like it used to be? Have they lost some of their rights? Also, there didn't used to be a major during the Premier League, with this being in May, anyone know why this has changed?
 
Tonight at the Cleveland there will be a leg of darts between our very own quirkafleeg and either Wayne mardle or ted hankey. How many points will the quirkster get down to before humiliation is completed?
