The Cricket Thread

I don't know how we're going to differentiate between them if it turns out he is also a knobhead

Tom Latham signs for Warwickshire fir the 2025 season.

That's him getting injured during this series then. I'd imagine that means Davies dropping down the order and keeping wicket

Very impressive win from England in the first test. Nice to see Bethell get a fifty in hitting the winning runs.

Brook is just an absolute animal with the bat.

10 wickets for Carse too, and a crucial over from Woakes to remove Williamson when he was looking a bit dangerous.

All in all, most satisfactory.

Carse had match figures of 10-106, the first away 10-for by an England bowler since Monty Panesar in 2012, and first by a seamer since Ryan Sidebottom in this country 16 years ago.

Yeah, that's a very good win against a quality opponent. With Pope lower down the order and Stokes at 7 we look better balanced.

New Zealand will be ruing 8 dropped catches including dropping Brook four times. Good win for England who took full advantage but let's not forget they were 71-4 and staring at the wall. England will need to up their game significantly to win this series as this game could easily have gone the other way. Enjoy the win..... while it lasts.

Catching the ball is part of the game. Keep dropping it and be a deserving loser. NZ rode their luck in the last series but they’re getting turned over this time round. England have plenty of gears to go yet if needed.

"Catches win matches" etc...

Brook was incredibly lucky tbf, they dropped some absolute dollys off him by all accounts (not sure what score he was on at the times though)

Second Test now underway and Crawley looks like he is going out there to get them before they get him. Duckett is already out for a duck and on this green top, who knows what England will do.

Either 125 all out or 400 plus by close. There will be no inbetween as that is the rules.

Crawley cleaned up by just about the first ball he’s tried to defend.

I think Crawley seems to know his defence is a BIG issue so is trying to avoid that by hitting every ball for several miles. As he isn't Viv Richards, this may not go well.

Oh dear Root... a waft outside off stump and New Zealand are taking their catches this morning. 26-3. Will we make 3 figures?
